Things to do in LA in October

Fall is finally here…are you as excited as we are? The month is just getting started and there’s already plenty to do to get into that  fall & Halloween vibe. Psst…check out our favorite Halloween events this year to really get in the spooky spirit.

Rooftop Festival & Rollerdisco

 Begins October 4th (Friday Nights Only!)

Location: E.P. & L.P.; 603 North La Cienega Boulevard West Hollywood, CA 90069

E.P & L.P. is bringing a party to Friday nights in LA. The rooftop will be transformed into a rollerdisco and music festival. With a carnival atmosphere, full bars, a retro themed menu, and the only open-air rollerdisco in the US, this is the party you won’t want to miss. There will be two stages to enjoy the fun – one with an amazing line up of DJs, lazers, and rooftop views, while the other boasts a themed floor to roller skate the night away. Tory Burch Pop-Up

Now – October 28th

Location: 189 The Grove Dr, Los Angeles, CA 90036

Tory Burch is opening a pop-up shop in the Glass Box at The Grove in partnership with Nordstrom. The pop-up will debut with the Animal House concept featuring the work of German photographer Walter Schels. His portrait Cat (1994) first appeared in Tory’s Resort 2024 collection, inspiring a new concept store on Melrose earlier this year. The Animal House pop-up will feature limited-edition Cat-printed handbags, shoes, and accessories (yay!), in addition to handbags and shoes from our iconic T Monogram and Kira collections. In October, the pop-up will highlight Sublime, a new fragrance by Tory Burch. Sublime reflects how Tory sees women today: confident, sensual and strong. LA’s own Kendall Jenner is featured in the campaign, photographed by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott.

The Bloody Halloween Bar

October 3rd-November 2nd

Location: E.P. / L.P., 603 N La Cienega Blvd, West Hollywood

Get ready to step into a killer night at The Bloody Halloween Bar! This blood-soaked pop-up experience from Bucketlisters. will have your heart racing as you sip on dangerously delicious cocktails and savor sinful bites, all while surrounded by eerie, blood bath-style decor that feels like it came straight out of your favorite slasher films. Dia de los Muertos Events

Celebrate Dia de la Muertos this season to honor your ancestors and loved ones. There are plenty of family friendly festivities to go around, including parades, festivals, performances, and marching bands. Find a Dia de la Muertos event near you here.

Cosm LA

Cosm LA is an immersive experience using revolutionary shared reality technology and a state of the art venue to transport you into the content, putting you in the front row of a playoff game or within a spectacular piece of art. Wicked Comes to Life at Universal Studios

Begins October 1st

Location: 100 Universal City Plaza, Universal City, CA 91608

Universal Studios Hollywood invites guests to defy gravity with a variety of all-new immersive experiences and exclusive merchandise inspired by Wicked, Universal Pictures’ highly-anticipated film, in theaters November 22. The park will transform its popular Feature Presentation store within the theme park, and UNIVRS store at Universal CityWalk Hollywood into memorable Wicked experiences. Feature Presentation will showcase props from the film, an exciting photo op will debut within the theme park and, later in tandem with the film opening, costumes will be displayed within the Universal Cinema, an AMC Theatre, at Universal CityWalk.

Frankenstein’s Mad Cocktail Lab

Frankenstein’s might look like an ordinary bar from the outside, but step through the doors and you’ll find a laboratory of concoctions and curiosities — and your drink is the next experiment. You may not be an expert, but don’t worry — our Mad Scientists will guide you through the cocktail making experience. Sunday Supper at Openaire

Every Sunday from 5:30 pm – 10:00 pm

As a part of their new fall offerings, Openaire will begin serving a Sunday Supper from 5:30 PM-10:00 PM every Sunday beginning October 6th. Created by Two Michelin-starred Chef Josiah Citrin and Executive Chef Vinson Ching, guests will get to enjoy a prix-fixe menu that celebrates fresh, seasonal ingredients and global influences each week. Designed for sharing, the menus feature signature dishes like prime cuts of roast and whole grilled branzino, alongside vibrant starters and indulgent desserts. Saba Surf  In-Store Events

Come hang out with  Saba Surf, a newly-opened surf shop in Venice that has  premium surf gear, local artisan products, and a unique cafe experience. They’ve got some fun events lined up like:  Sweat With Sav x Saba ($15 admission) on Sunday, 10/6, Live Music night ($12.51 admission) on Sunday 10/13 and a Halloween Movie Night  featuring Hocus Pocus (psst…its FREE). They also have tons of surfboards crafted by some of California’s finest local shapers, as well as wetsuits, fins, towels, and the brand’s signature surf wax and small-batch apparel. “A Night in Jalisco” Dining Pop- Up

Now – November 9, 5 pm – 9 pm every Friday & Saturday

The Peninsula Beverly Hills is hosting has A Night in Jalisco,” a new pop-up dining series spearheaded by new Executive Chef Luis Cuadra that celebrates the rich heritage of authentic Latin cuisine. Guests can indulge in yummy dishes like fresh tableside guacamole, braised birria tacos, Mexican street corn, and dulce de leche cheesecake. The Lobster Celebrates 25 Years & National Seafood Month

25th Annual Day of the Dead Celebration

The 25th Annual Día de los Muertos celebration will be a full day of fun for the whole fam bam. Día de los Muertos is a daytime event with a kids plaza and cultural performances including exhibits, Aztecs, traditional dances, and crafts vendors. There are 3 time slots, one in the morning, afternoon, and an all night party. You can reserve your tickets to celebrate the entire day.

Halloween Spooktacular

October 26th, 11 am – 3 pm

Location: One Colorado Courtyard, 41 Hugus Alley, Pasadena, CA

One Colorado invites the community for a “Halloween Spooktacular” event kickick off with a Halloween Hootenanny featuring the Bob Baker Marionettes from 11 a.m. to noon. Guests are encouraged to wear their favorite costumes. There will be pumpkin-decorating activities for only $10 per, with pre-registration required. Each participant will receive one pumpkin and crafting accessories, while supplies last. Space is limited for this event, so grab your spot here.

Anaheim Fall Fest & Halloween Parade

October 26th, Festival 11 am – 5 pm; Parade at 7 pm

Just outside of the city, there’s one of the longest-running civic celebrations of Halloween. The festival celebrates its centennial this October (established in 1923) and is a good old fashioned Halloween carnival. There will be local artists, live music, magic shows, costume contests, food, and crafts! Stick around after for a Halloween Parade with ghouls, ghosts, and witches stretching across a mile and a half through the Anaheim streets. The event is FREE, but donations are welcome.

French Fête at Zizou

Award-Winning Balloon Museum Opening

October 3oth – March 16th

Location: Ace Mission Studios, Los Angeles, CA 90033

If you’re looking for the coolest photo-op on your feed, this is your spot. The Balloon Museum is bringing its critically acclaimed show “Let’s Fly” to Ace Mission Studios in Los Angeles. The exhibition will debut Balloon Museum’s newest work, designed by Oakland, CA-based LED artist Christopher Schardt. Named “Mariposa,” the 26-foot-wide sculpture debuted at Burning Man in 2023 and is illuminated with over 39,000 full-color LEDs. The Lido Theater Grand Opening
