7 Ways to Spend a Night Out in LA

Coffee dates, brunch hangs and shopping are some of the things we love to do here in LA. But when the sun sets and the twinkling skyline appears we’re stuck in the things to do category (anyone relate?) Here is the good news. LA is just as vibrant at night. There are a ton of energetic clubs and bustling bars to get together with the girls or meet up for a first date. There’s also a whole other side to LA’s nightlife that you might not have explored yet. We’ve hung with the night owls to bring you the best list of nighttime activities that’ll have you falling in love with LA’s after-hours. So, let’s dive in and uncover the oh-so-amazing experiences  to do in LA at night.

1. MainRo

Location: 6350 Hollywood Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90028

Get an energy boost at the ultimate destination for LA’s nightlife scene. MainRo is a spot to get the full glitz and glam of LA’s nightlife scene. It’s both a restaurant and a club all in one place. Think a modern day (but cool) Great Gatsby soirée. Entertainers are scattered throughout the space along with live performers who will come and serenade you at your table. It’s definitely a bucket list item so check them out from Wednesday to Saturday, they’re open until 2 a.m.

2. Tea at Shiloh

Chill late night hangs are happening at Tea at Shiloh, a unique teahouse in the Arts District exclusively open after dark. They’re open until 11 p.m. and this ambiance exudes warmth, comfort and creativity. It’s the perfect place to unwind and chill. The tea house also offers a range of games and activities to enjoy alongside live music playing softly in the background. 

3. Dinner Cruise in Marina del Rey

4. Maze Rooms

This is for all you girls who love the art of a good thrill. Maze Rooms Escape Rooms are LA’s best-rated adventure. These rooms are located all over LA and are full of mind-bending mazes that transport you to fantasy realms and sometimes create the ultimate challenge. There are a variety of locations throughout the city and most are open until 1 a.m., giving your group plenty of time to conquer a rooms. 

5. LA Ghost Tour

Outside of the El Capitan Theatre lives a spooky hidden gem: the LA Ghost Tour. It’s one of the top-rated ghost tours in LA and invites you to explore the dark history of the city of angels. Operating throughout the week, exclusively after hours, it guides you to various haunted locales that’ll make even your favorite spots in LA feel different. Tours last about 60 minutes and they happen nightly from 6pm-10pm. 

6. Long Beach Water-Bikes

Biking in the dark is a unique adventure unlike anything you’ve ever experienced. These water bikes in Long Beach also have lights underneath your feet to guide you along the water. We love taking these right before sunset to catch a coastal and magical moment. These bikes are available every day of the week and are a perfect go-to for on the fly plans with friends. 

7. El Gato Night Market 

Location: 941 S Union Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90015

We love a good night market. This one -the night market at El Gato -is a delightful culinary journey in LA, where you can explore an array of irresistible food options that’ll make you momentarily forget about your diet. This night market only happens on Thursday through Sunday nights (Friday they’re open until midnight), and offer a tantalizing array of food vendors from the heart of Los Angeles. With everything from delectable pizzas and mouthwatering tacos to savory sushi and finger-licking BBQ, you’ll find yourself immersed in foodie heaven and won’t want to leave.
