Daisy Jones & The Six Amazon Fashion Finds

On top of swampy 70s pop-rock nostalgia and Sam Claflin’s abs, The LA Girl is all over the throwback fashion featured in Hello Sunshine‘s new hit Amazon Prime mockumentary series: Daisy Jones & The Six. With vintage inspo paired with the likes of Free People and Lucky Brand aesthetics, costume designer Denise Wingate brought back fringes, platforms, Coachella worthy kimonos, and statement chain belts. Lucky for you, we rounded up our top Amazon picks from sparkly eyeshadow to platform boots and everything that’s worth it from the film’s Amazon collection

Final Performance Dress

We had to start off with Riley Keough, or Daisy Jones’ last performance look (a.k.a. a reference to Stevie Nicks iconic stage fashion). Spoiler Alert: in the premiere episode, we see the band go through a break up, hence the final dress she wore on stage. “Riley called me one day and said she was listening to ‘Gold Dust Woman’ and that she thought this was the look we should go for. We just had to find a spectacular piece,” revealed Wingate in an interview with Page Six. Layered on top of the vintage metallic crochet dress is a golden Halston caftan that Wingate cut down the middle to transform into a cape. We think this white chiffon capelet layers seamlessly, highlighting our cape pick’s golden hues. And don’t forget to go Daisy Jones all the way with her sultry, smoky rockstar eyes and platform clogs.

Young Daisy Mini Dresses

Daisy was born a fashionista, and we can’t get over these two mini dresses worn by her younger self. With flower power inspirations from the 60s, her style gives the perfect rockstar-in-the-making look. This floral short sleeve A line dress and white cami sundress are young daisy approved. For her party fit, we found a similar backless halter tie with a gogo girl inspired fabric.

Daisy’s Button Down Tunic

Speaking of minis, we are obsessed with grown up Daisy’s button-down tunic that can be styled up with  a cinching belt. Striped, colorful or solid, the main prize of this fit is a tunic. Finish the look with a pair of leather knee-high stompers.

Simone Jackson

Sultry vocalist and Daisy’s bestie, Simone Jackson is serving us a 70s version of Clueless. Simone’s signature staples include fringes, and we’re in love with the leather fringe vest she wore while performing her cover of Donny Hathaway’s “A Song For You”. Match a red silky blouse with a suede red skirt to get the look we first met her in. And of course, it wouldn’t be a complete 70s vibe without these shiny leather boots.

Bralettes

Bralettes are a staple in the Hello Sunshine series based off the best selling book. Like pretty much everyone else, we can’t stop thinking about Daisy’s denim bralette that we also found as a dainty cami. Daisy wouldn’t be daisy without her fringes, and this fringe piece is the perfect match to her crochet version. Even the band’s fans were wearing a rainbow themed version  of the 70s look with bright-colored bralettes.

Iconic Jackets

We probably speak for every viewer, when we say that the coats and jackets took center stage as far as the show’s primary source of fashion inspiration. We were loving Daisy’s choice, a statement feathery jacket,  when she was on her way to drop off her mixtape to producer Teddy Price. Daisy’s fur-lined coats were also major staple in order to show off  Daisy’s bold personality. As far as Karen Sirko’s style (played by Suki Waterhouse), it’s laidback and gothic with this bold leather jacket becoming a fan favorite.

Karen’s Floral Print Bathing Suit

But, seeing Karen in a bright gogo girl inspired bathing suit was a deviation from her usual dark and gothic leather getup. This colorful, swirly-print one piece gets in touch with Karen’s girlier and softer side. For Karen’s light cover up, pair the bright one piece with this neutral, dark green utility jacket by Lucky Brand. Karen’s woven beach bag stayed with the colorful theme, and thanks to Fossil, we have the perfect tote dupe.

Camila Anything

While most of the characters are seen with more edgy and bold fits, Camila’s style (played by Camila Morrone)  matched her vibe: easygoing with a hint of sass. In the beginning and towards the middle of the series, we see Camila dressed in more friendly and motherly pieces like her flowing blue bohemian dress and neutral pencil skirt. As she matures in the last episodes, her style leans more towards a rockstar’s wife and baby momma, alluding to the attitude of Mick Jagger’s wife, Bianca Jagger. Easygoing, girl-next-door fits evolve into a sassy fur collar coat paired with a patterned bandana.

Denim on Denim on Denim

The whole show was a Lucky Brand moment featuring all kinds of pieces in denim fabric. Billy Dunne sported the classic 70s fit and casual rockstar staple: a denim button-down over jeans. Camila’s girly and sunny style involved lots of denim skirts and even this light wash dress. But Daisy, a classic fashionista, continuously rocks the iconic 70s high-rise bell bottoms that will never go out of style.

Tie Tops

Tie tops were very frequent throughout the show, taking on all colors and fabrics to fit the characters’ personalities. Mainly seen on Daisy, we’re obsessed with her range from mesh and fur-lined tie tops to multi-colored ruched pieces and ruffled designs.
