New year, new way to celebrate your birthday! We LOVE birthdays over here because it gives us the chance to get together with our favorite boo’s and bae’s and celebrate life in the most fun and innovative ways we can think of. Plus, there is no better place to celebrate your birthday than in LA. Now don’t get us wrong, rooftop bashes at some hotspots are one way to bring the birthday crew together, but we just put together a list of 10 cool, unforgettable and adventurous birthday ideas in LA to celebrate your special day. Get ready to discover some fabulous & out of the ordinary experiences to welcome in a new year of you.

1. Rooftop Pottery Class @ Bitter Root Pottery 

Location: 7461 Beverly Blvd Los Angeles (5th Floor, Penthouse)

This is an experience you wont forget. Bitter Root Pottery is an epic spot where you can craft a piece of pottery high above the Hollywood Hills. Get a group together and get your hands creatively dirty by creating something you can show off in your home. Bitter Root Pottery is known for creating a supportive and well-instructed environment for everyone, so no need ot be an expert here. We definitely recommend taking an evening pottery class to watch the sun set as you shape your creation. Spots fill up fast, so try to book yours ASAP. In case you couldn’t get a spot rooftop, they also have two other locations – one in Culver City and their original location in Beverly Grove –  to host your party. 

2. Girls Brunch @ The Hideaway

Location: 421 N. Rodeo Drive, Beverly Hills

No birthday is complete without a girly brunch with your besties and we found the perfect spot! Start your day off with a touch of girly glamor at The Hideaway in Beverly Hills. It’s a thee chic haven for brunch aficionados. With its curated menu and sophisticated ambiance, The Hideaway offers you a savory escape from the ordinary with every bite. The lobster avocado toast is our favorite and instead of mimosas swap for a pitcher of their Pink Margartia which is made with a Rose tequila. Book a birthday brunch daily, they are open  from 11am-late night.

3. A Paint & Sip Studio LA Party

Location: 351 S. La Brea Ave, Los Angeles

With a brush in one hand and a glass of your favorite drink in the other, Paint & Sip Studio LA Is the perfect way to celebrate a special day. The studio offers an artistic haven both virtually and online, with the opportunity to reserve private parties too (just $35-50 a person). Create an artistic masterpiece under the guidance of talented instructors and enjoy this memorable way to mark another trip around the sun in a way that is both relaxing and creatively fulfilling.  

4. Surprise Day Trip

One California Day Trip is quite the adventure if you’re looking for one for your birthday. They curate a special day trip to a neighboring LA destination (think Palm Springs or  Santa Barbara) and designed in a surprise format so that you get to discover as you go. Looking for a more fine-dining rooftop experience for the birthday girl? Reserve a table at Harriet’s Rooftop open daily until 11pm.  They’re known to be the go-to spot for celebrity dinners. Perched atop the 1 Hotel West Hollywood, Harriet’s Rooftop has a stylish ambience that sets it apart from other dining experiences in LA. Toast to another year with the Hollywood Hills as your backdrop and with the restaurant’s specialty cocktails and seasonally-curated menu stocked with fresh produce from the farm. We love the Jojo cocktail for a buzz of Prosecco and notes of fresh berries and the marinated artichoke and yukon potato flatbread had us savoring every last bite. 

6. Shopping Sesh on Abbot Kinney Blvd

Location: Abbot Kinney and Venice Blvd, 90291

Is there anything better than shopping on your birthday? We love splurging on ourselves along  themile long strip of LA’s best fashion, art and food scene: Abbot Kinney Boulevard. Check out its unique boutiques, trendsetting galleries or artisanal cafés, the boulevard is sure to introduce you to so many hidden gems and new favorites. We love stopping by the cult skincare shop Aesop or picking up some basics at  James Perse. Got some extra time? Walk on over to Rose Avenue, where you can find more quaint shops and eateries.

7. Celebrate@ Mother Wolf

Mother Wolf is hand down the LA’s best Italian Restaurant, so why not get the best dinner of your life on your special day.  Mother Wolf is culinary marvel Evan Funke’s hidden gem that redefines soulful Italian cuisine in Los Angeles. With its cozy ambience and potential to house large groups, it creates an intimate atmosphere perfect for birthday celebrations. The menu at Mother Wolf includes Funke’s renowned handmade pastas, wood-fired pizzas and hyper seasonal antipasti and our FAV- the Diavola pizza, which we devoured alongside sips of their delicious Sirene Spritz.

8. The Lake Shrine

Location: 17190 Sunset Blvd, Pacific Palisades

We love a moment of reflection on our birthday so a visit to The Lake Shrine in Pacific Palisades is definitely a way to kick off the day. Take  an intentional moment to find tranquility and ground yourself  as you are surrounded by lush gardens and reflective waters designed to help you find an inner peace. Make a plan to visit their Meditation garden to sit in a moment of quiet time, they are open free of charge,  Wednesday through Sunday. 

9. Trapeze on Santa Monica Pier

Location: 370 Santa Monica Pier Santa Monica

Want to surprise your friends and do something really cool? Book a party at Santa Monica’s Trapeze School and get everyone’s heart racing and flying high. Their organized and professional staff provides activities & a mix of experiences for all skill levels. They can tailor a program to any needs, and feature activities that suit the abilities and sense of adventure of your guests. This is definitely a unique experience right on the Santa Monica Pier. Let’s just say the views from the top will be pretty incredible. Classes are from 11am-4pm.

10. Casual Celebration @ Terra

Location: 10250 Santa Monica Blvd, Los Angeles (inside Eataly)

If you’re fresh off a birthday shopping spree at Westfield Century City, stop by  Terra is a rooftop dining experience and has gorgeous views of the LA skyline. The food is delicious too! They serve up a  modern take on Italian dining . We love ordering the butternut squash ravioli in butter sage sauce. It also has a lively ambiance and had plenty of room to host large  groups.
