There’s nothing like Valentine’s Day in Los Angeles. Romantic beachfront sunsets, weather warm enough to enjoy a rooftop dinner, and of course all kinds of offbeat Valentine’s Day activities are available to choose from. Here is the LA Girl’s official guide to things to do for Valentine’s Day.
1. Treat Yourself to a Spa Day
You and your bae deserve some pampering. There are tons of incredible spas around Los Angeles to get a little R & R, but we especially love Larchmont Sanctuary Spa. They are known as THE couples spa in all of LA and here is one of the reasons why. Typically during holidays – Valentine’s Day specifically – they creatively curate epic spa experiences for you and your partner. This year – they have some amazing packages based on the best sexy & romantic books EVER. For example, their “I Burn For You” package (any Bridgerton fans out there?) includes a candle lit tub time with your bae with Sparkling Rosé, then a salt stone couples massage that will leave you feeling like the diamond of the season. Then – as a take home bonus – you get a pair of beautiful teacups to continue the high society love fest. Get a spot and surprise your suitor, they’ll love ya even more for it. All the info here.
2. Dine Al Fresco
Is there anything more romantic than rooftop dining beneath twinkling fairy lights? We love Margot in Culver City and Il Cielo in Beverly Hills. Lady Byrd Cafe also has a fantastic indoor/outdoor vibe. The Echo Park, woman-owned business is getting into the loved up spirit with their decor and a special Valentine’s Day Menu ($75/person), which includes a snack, first course, second course, dessert, and optional wine pairings. The entree choices are pretty yummy too. Choose between lobster, duck and filet mignon.
3. Laugh and Love
Laughing with your loved one is another way to connect on this loved up holiday. Buy tickets and surprise your Valentine with a show at The Hollywood Improv or with The Stand Up Comedy Club.
4. Spend a Romantic Night Under the Stars
City of stars, are you shining just for me? If you’re looking for a budget-friendly and oh-so-romantic activity, why not take a drive up to Griffith Observatory to stargaze with the person who makes you see stars?
Or watch the stars dance on the ocean by booking a staycation at the Paséa Hotel & Spa. They’ll have special V-day themed cocktails, and offer in-room bubbly and bites.
5. Helicopter Over Los Angeles
Want to feel like a millionaire from a 90’s romcom? You can take private helicopter tours of LA with companies like Elite Helicopter Tours or Touchstone Helicopters. Or try helicoptering over Los Angeles through Hotel Figueroa in Downtown L.A. Cozy up with cocktails fireside in the hotel’s lively lobby lounge then escape with their Lovers Cityscape Package ($2,500) available during the entire month of February 2024. It includes a two-night stay inside their vibrant featured artist suite (with a 2pm checkout), a bottle of Veuve Clicquot, a 90-minute helicopter tour of Los Angeles with Star Helicopters (a perfect proposal experience!), and breakfast at Café Fig. Email [email protected] to book!
6. Enter a Different World Through VR
Want to enter into a different world? Through virtual reality, experience all kinds of adventures such as Jurassic World, the Terminator, and more. Two Bit Circus also has escape rooms with a twist, arcades, and meals for you to stay fueled.
7. Attend an Art Show
If you or your bae is an art lover, then attending an art show is a fun way to add in a touch of culture to the season of Valentines. Aristocratix is the perfect way to celebrate all shapes, sizes, and colors, and what makes them unique. With various shows throughout the month of February, this socially conscious, inclusive art exhibition focuses on the beauty of the human form. From paintings, sculpture, photography and digital media, to burlesque dancers, aerialists, figure sketching, body painting and more, this show has an eclectic mix of tasteful, eye-popping exhibits sure to appeal to anyone.
8. Horseback Ride to the Hollywood Sign
If you love nature and want to horseback ride, we got a special place for you. Spend a romantic evening or night riding to the Hollywood Sign. Don’t forget to snap a pic of the best view of Hollywood.
9. Gondola Getaway
Experience the night as if you were in Italy. Book a private Gondola for a 50-minute cruise with long stem roses, a complimentary corkage, and cozy blankets.
10. Salsa, Burlesque, and Mojitos
Dancing with your significant other can be very romantic. If you are looking to improve your salsa dancing, you are in luck. Learn 3-4 Latin dances from a professional instructor and practice those skills at a speakeasy with live entertainment and music.
