Pumpkin spice lattes are here, stores are filled with Halloween decor, the weather is cooling down which all means that fall is coming, Angelenos! Pull the scarves out, put the boots on, and get an extra early start on prepping a Halloween costume! There’s no better time to check out a new museum, try some fried food at the fair, or even take your pup to a special doggie festival! Here are 13 things to do in LA this September:
LA County Fair
August 30th – September 22nd
Ferris wheel, games and fried foods of all kinds is what you’ll find at the LA County Fair! Not to mention carnival rides, barnyard animals, and live music. Just head to the Fairplex and stroll around to see what peaks your interest and remember the fair is closed Mondays and Tuesdays, with the exception of Labor Day.
626 Night Market
September 1st
Classic farmers market are always fun anytime of year, but the 626 Night Market in Santa Anita is always a bit more special! There are hundreds of food vendors, crafts, a DJ and a dance floor too!
Twilight On The Pier
September 4th – 25th
Santa Monica Pier promenade comes alive with Twilight on the Pier! Two stages of live music along with art, food, even a beer and spirits garden! Remember to RSVP ahead of time, but admission is free.
Brew Ha Ha Craft Beer Festival
September 7th
Try out 100 different craft beers at Brew Ha Ha Craft Beer Festival! There’s plenty of games to play, food for purchase, two bands and more all in Silverado.
Doggie Paradise
September 14th
Puppy power! Make sure you have proof of vaccinations and license for your fur babies so they can enjoy Doggie Paradise in the LBC. Everything from puppy photo-ops and canine arts and crafts to doggie free runs will be available. There will also be mobile grooming, splash pools and of course, pet adoption!
Oktoberfest
September 20th – October 27th
German beer on tap, German food, and polka dancing all for your enjoyment at Oktoberfest. This event is family friendly, so children 17 and younger are free.
Free Museum Day
September 21st
You and a plus one can pick one of the participating museums and receive a ticket for 2 for Free Museum Day!
Questival
September 21st

Dino Fest

Remember how obsessed Ross from Friends was with dinosaurs? Well you can meet paleontologists like him in real life and discover the world of fossils, see rare specimens and interactive activities during Dino Fest! Also a great opportunity for a fun family field trip! This dinosaur festival is happening at the Natural History Museum of LA County.
Gelato Festival

Get ready for a sugar rush! At the Gelato Festival you can chow down on unlimited samples of gelato and even vote for your favorite one. Pretty sweet way to spend a weekend!
Free National Park Day
September 28th
Pack a lunch for a hike or get your camping gear in order for Free National Park Day! Some of the participating parks within driving distance to LA include Death Valley, Joshua Tree, Yosemite, and Sequoia. Just be sure to head out early as parking may be more difficult than usual!
