The Metaverse. It’s a little scary thinking about a world exisitng beyond our physical selves, but it’s a world that’s planning to conquer the fashion game too. Now it may be a little too early to see couture looks from the fashion houses of Milan go Meta, but what the Metaverse is seeing: avatars rocking athleisure and active wear. Wait… we thought that the Metaverse was the opposite of getting physically fit? That is clearly not true. Yup, avatars are meeting up in the verse to get in their digital workouts as a form of Meta socialization. We’re also quickly learning it’s inspiring both physical and digital spaces to wanting to move their bodies in trendy, comfortable activewear. Thus, energizing a new fashion movement deemed “phygital” fashion. Brands like Nike and Lululemon have been on this pulse, but there’s another sustainable design & e-comm platform that’s coming up to their level: PhygitalTwin. And they just celebrated their launch of the world’s first ever “phygital” athleisure colleciton, FiT Rx, with health and fitness expert Dr. Robin B.
PhygitalTwin and Dr. Robin B took LA by storm with their immersive, “phygital metaverse” FiT Rx launch party. This celebrity-packed event, hosted by Loop Studios was packed with 90’s themed energy, outfits and activations. The guest list included actors, musicians, Web3 entrepreneurs, fitness and sports to models and of course, content creators.
The launch party debuted PhygitalTwin’s FiT Rx collection that Included 6 digital-only outfits and 6 Phygital outfits. The outfits are vibrant in color and includes a cropped hoodie, track pants, gym top, high-waisted leggings, skirt, and a mesh dress. They party also showcased an AR (Augmented Reality) station where party goers can see exclusive FiT Rx filters on themselves, plus a metaverse party hosted by @exclusible, live painter and photo booth.
This eclectic mix mingled in every corner of LA’s exquisite Hideaway House hosted by Patron. They also danced the night away to tunes by DJ Social and an exclusive live performance from Rhea Rhaj, a young and sensational up-and-coming artist. With tequila running on tap by Patron and Mexican tacos flowing freely from celebrity Chef Mal, the scene was also set by laser videos of the FiT Rx collection beaming directly onto the walls and ceiling.
With the release of PhygitalTwin’s FiT Rx collection, the company has brought experimental ease to the process of trying before buying for their customers. Through AR filters, customers can see themselves wearing the pieces and know how each piece fits their body before ordering it online. This is how it works: you try it on (digitally), purchase the physical item of your digital try on, but at the same time you’ll receive the same item for your avatar that’s tradeable, trackable and transferable. You’ll also have the chance to link the digital outfit to your physical outfit in order to unlock and get access to exclusive videos and workouts from Dr Robin B, plus discounts and future drops. Here’s something else to love about this “phygital” line. Each piece is created on demand which creates zero waste and counter acts the effects of fast fashion. We definitely love that.
