Hotel Recommendations

If you decided that indeed, Cabo is the place you want to visit, the next step would be to find a hotel to book for your stay! This can be a tough decision in Cabo because so many hotels are lined up directly next to one other. Which hotel is family-friendly? Are all of the hotels all-inclusive? Is this a hot-spot hotel for spring breakers? These are all great questions to ask when finding one for your upcoming vacation. Here are three hotel recommendations from our team members’ real, recent stays in Cabo San Lucas, based on what type of trip you’re looking for.

A Relaxing Stay: Grand Solmar Land’s End Resort & Spa

Welcome to paradise! As soon as you step foot onto this property, you will feel your vacay begin. The Grand Solmar Land’s End  Resort & Spa is a gorgeous property with an oceanfront view. This excellent hotel offers an all-inclusive package where you can enjoy delicious food and drinks throughout the day. With a unique variety of food options, including an Asian Lounge, Sports Bar, Mexican cuisine spot and more, the Grand Solmar Hotel will satisfy your taste buds after a long day at the beach. Poolside restaurants, swim-up bars, infinity pools and a private beach are just a few amenities that stood out to us about this property! Book a room at the Grand Solmar Land’s End Resort & Spa to ensure your needs are met if you’re looking for a relaxing, romantic stay.

Party Time: Hotel Riu Santa Fe or Pueblo Bonito Rose Resort & Spa

Alright, spring breakers, this one is for you! The Hotel Riu Santa Fe and the Pueblo Bonito Rose Resort & Spa are both hot spots for spring break party crowds. Both of these hotels offer affordable all-inclusive options, and the bars located around the resort make sure you get your money’s worth. (Cheers!) Hotel Riu Santa Fe has Riu Parties by the pool, which are themed events filled with crazy performances, DJs and we can’t forget: drinks. These events are quite the hit for younger crowds looking to have fun with groups of friends. Pueblo Bonito Rose Resort & Spa offers amazing spa services, including facials and massages for our readers looking for a perfect balance of fun and relaxation. No matter what type of trip you are looking to have, Cabo San Lucas has a hotel that will be right for you.

Restaurant Recommendations

Let’s talk delicious food. The food in Cabo San Lucas is one of the many reasons we were so excited to visit. Whether you are looking for classic enchiladas or exquisite margaritas, there is a restaurant for you. Here are our recommendations for some tasty food and drinks for your stay in Cabo:

Breakfast: Outpost

First up, breakfast time! After a morning filled with sleeping in and a warm shower, breakfast is next on the agenda. We decided to dine in at Outpost and had a wonderful experience overall. The restaurant is flooded with plants, and they even use some of these plants to make their delicious dishes. We ordered the O.P. Tres Leches French Toast and a margarita trilogy that came with an O.P. Smokey Hibiscus Margarita, an Avocado Margarita, and a Black Margarita with charcoal. We must say, the french toast may have been one of the tastiest meals we have ever eaten! All around, it is such a fun environment to be in during your time in Cabo. They also serve lunch and dinner, but we highly recommend heading to Outpost for breakfast.

Lunch: The Sand Bar

The Sand Bar is a great spot for your lunchtime in Cabo San Lucas. It is located just a few buildings down from the well-known beach club, Mango Deck. They are open for breakfast and lunch and offer a variety of items like ceviche, salads, appetizers, cocktails, and more! After you are finished eating and drinking on the lower level, you can make your way upstairs to get a massage! Yes, The Sand Bar is both a restaurant and a massage lounge. (How cool, huh!) The massage was so affordable, $35 for a 60-minute massage, and it put us in a relaxing state of mind before we headed out to our boating excursion. We highly recommend checking out this spot if you are looking for a one-stop shop to fuel your needs.

Dinner: Mi Casa

We have so many great things to say about this restaurant; where should we start? Mi Casa is an authentic Mexican restaurant that is located in the heart of Cabo San Lucas. We were seated right away with no wait time and ordered two flavorful margaritas, one Cadillac, and one blended mango. As soon as we ordered our drinks, the restaurant’s talented mariachi band performed a song of our choice next to our table. The menu is filled with options like queso, chicken enchiladas, seafood entrees, and a variety of margaritas. After long consideration, we ordered guacamole (made at our table) and Ceviche de Pesca Blanca as appetizers. For dinner, we ate Las Enchiladas Verdes o Rojas and El Mole Poblano. Every single item was absolutely delicious, but the crowd favorite was the El Mole Poblano, by far! Mi Casa is not only tasty but is an excellent environment for a wholesome, authentic Mexican dinner for your stay in Cabo San Lucas.

Activity Recommendations

As much as we love relaxing by the pool all day, Cabo San Lucas has fantastic, must-do activities! We recommend talking to your hotel about deals for the excursions or booking through Cabo Adventures, which has various activities like swimming with dolphins, ziplining, and boating trips. Here are our top three recommendations for exciting activities to do on your Cabo getaway!

Jetskiing

If you are seeking a crowd-pleaser activity, we highly recommend jetskiing! Imagine this… You are riding 40 mph on the back of a jetski, looking at the beautiful views of the beaches in Cabo San Lucas. This was our exact experience! Our recommendation is to sign up through your hotel or take a walk along the beach to find a vendor who will let you jetski for a reasonable cost! Personally, we signed up with a vendor on the beach near Hotel Riu Santa Fe and had the experience of a lifetime on the water.

Whale Watching

If you are visiting Cabo San Lucas in the spring months, you must go whale watching! The local workers told us that March is the perfect month to see tons of whales, and we did! First of all, the Cabo waters are so blue and gorgeous, but now imagine the addition of whales swimming near your boat to add to the experience. Again, you can sign up through Cabo Adventures or any of the vendors once you arrive in Cabo, but this is an experience you won’t want to miss.

Glass Bottom Boat Tour

The Glass Bottom Boat Tour is a great way to visit a few of the many iconic tourist spots in Cabo. The Arch of Cabo San Lucas is a hot spot to see for both locals and tourists, which is the main reason we booked this boat tour. This is an affordable option for people who are looking to do an exciting activity in Cabo without breaking the bank. Enjoy the views!

Insider Tips:

  1. Make sure you bring plenty of cash for tipping! Most places accept U.S. dollars, but you can also exchange them for Pesos.
  2. There is no need to rent a car. We highly recommend using Uber because it is safe and affordable in Cabo.
  3. Book a shuttle through your hotel or a shuttle website to ensure a safe ride from the airport to your hotel.
