Spring has officially sprung in Los Angeles, and The LA Girl is already scouting the season’s trendiest brands, sunniest patios, and most unforgettable experiences. This week, all roads led to Mercado Gonzalez Market (an oofshoot of the beloved Northgate Market you’ve probably seen around LA) —a colorful, flavor-packed tribute to Little Mexico—for an exclusive celebration of Tesoro Azul, the premium tequila brand by none other than Latin music legend Marco Antonio Solís. With 154 colors in the tilework, a panadería scenting the air with fresh conchas, and hand-rolled tortilla chips crisping to perfection, the setting was pure sensory bliss before the main event even began.
After guests explored the vibrant aisles of Northgate, they made their way past a built-in bar to a tucked-away private patio where the celebration truly came to life. Ceviche stations, fresh guacamole bars, crunchy chicharrones, and a variety of taco setups created a vibrant culinary landscape worthy of the season. Soon after, Marco Antonio Solís entered the space, taking a seat with fellow members of his iconic band Los Bukis and his elegant wife by his side. With music in the air and glasses raised, he spoke warmly about the inspiration behind Tesoro Azul and the craftsmanship behind the brand’s Blanco and Reposado offerings. Solís then remarked with a smile, “Si es tequila, tiene que ser Tesoro. Si es Tesoro, le atoro,” which translates to: “If it’s tequila, it has to be a treasure—and if it’s a treasure, it’s for me.”
With festival season on the horizon and summer plans waiting to be written, Tesoro Azul is the bottle you’ll want on every picnic table and party bar cart. The evening’s soundtrack included a live mariachi band with an unforgettable vocalist that had everyone swaying between bites and sips. Editor-in-Chief, Erika De La Cruz joined the celebration with her family, soaking in the flavors, the stories, and the undeniable vibe. If this night was a preview of what’s to come, summer in LA is shaping up to be unforgettable—and just a little more azul.
