Modern Meets Vintage Flare: Selenee’s Spring Collection at LA Fashion Week

Los Angeles got its dose of contemporary runway presentations for LA Fashion Week and a few designers caught our eye. Look out spring, there’s a new color pallet in town and its shades redefine the season with Selenee’s debut collection. During the March 16th presentation at Hollywood’s exclusive member club Neue House, Selenee launched hued silhouettes of gray, black, red and plaid through a mirrored garden that transported us into a playful blend of modern and vintage flare with no stamp in time. Think: Modern “garden of eden” backdrop, meets medieval shapes, with contemporary structures. Modern suit designs, playful separates and romantic seemingly historical pieces hit Hollywood last Sunday night and we’re eager to follow along the journey.

The Selenee Spring Collection debut at LA Fashion Week was a star-studded affair, attracting a chic crowd of fashion insiders, influencers, and industry luminaries. Guests previewed the debut collection on the runway, savored cocktails, all while enjoying a crowd-cheering presentation as a curation of glamourous models walked a mysterious garden of mirrors, stopping at each area of enchantment for a posed reveal. Among the notable attendees were Selling Sunset’s own Amanza Smith and model/actress Alina Goncharova all spotted taking in the stunning collection from the front row. The runway also boasted amazing talent, like influencer and model Sonya Esman leading the show.

The Collection

From timeless plaid wool to flowing fabrics, Selenee embraced a sophisticated gray and black palette, blending sharp lines with smooth curves to evoke the enigmatic allure of a labyrinth. The collection seamlessly merges vintage and modern influences, where plaid fabrics meet sculptural tailoring, embodying the concept of time intertwining. Corseted coats, bold shoulders, suit dresses, checkered pants, wool blousons, leather sweatshirts, capes, and dresses all played key roles in defining this season’s collection, which perfectly embodied the brands flair for mixing playful patterns with high-end luxury.

Each piece showcased the brand’s commitment to innovation, from its stunning three-dimensional tailoring to its intricate design details. They create original, transformative fashion, elevating the humble to the divine. Committed to sustainability, they prioritize ethical sourcing and responsible production to ensure beauty that’s kind to the planet. If you’re planning ahead and looking into the fall, or even scanning for summer separates, we especially loved the houndstooth patterned blouse and mini skirt pieces shown and the romanticized sleeves on so many of the looks, with long fabric widening at the wrists or even dawning ruffles for a classic vintage finish.

A Brand to Watch: SELENEE’s Rising Influence

We love discovering emerging brands early, and Selenee certainly excites us. The “Garden of Forking Path” collection marks a significant milestone for the brand, blending elements of both art and fashion to offer something truly unique. With its innovative designs, stunning presentation, and bold approach to fashion, Selenee is undoubtedly a brand to watch as it continues to evolve. We can’t wait to see what comes next from this avant-garde luxury label.
