7 LGTBQ+ Creators You Must Follow This Summer 2022

Pride! Pride! Pride! June is all about Pride month, and even though most of the Pride events pasted, we at the LA Girl want to shine the spotlight on LGTBQ+ creators, filmmakers, and inspiring people from the LGTBQ+ community who continue to inspire the current and future generation. 

Blaire Imani

You’ll be “Smarter in Seconds” (but really.) Blaire began her mini series entitled “Smarter in Seconds” across her social media channels in the midst of a heated pandemic. She aims to educate the masses in a quick, easy to understand way that involve experts, skits and plenty of helpful information on topics that range from LGBTQ+, to Juneteenth and even body odor! Blaire has been featured in The New York Times for her work and now, you can even get your hands on a few of her new books.

AJ Gibson

AJ Gibson is an all around talent, from speaker, perspective coach, social influencer, to celebrity TV host. He has co-hosted ‘Access Hollywood Live,’ has often appeared giving the inside scoop on ‘The Wendy Williams Show and of course, he dishes out all BTS footage from his fabulous relationship with fellow media personality, Emile Ennis Jr. across his social channels. ’AJ Gibson also helps people enhance their ability to see every event as an opportunity for growth, no matter their current situation and is author of Flipping The Script. Laverne Cox

You know we had to include the fabulous Laverne Cox. Many may know her from groundbreaking role as Sophia Burset in Orange is the New Black, but since then, she has been dominating the industry. Laverne Cox, an Emmy winning producer, produced a movie on Netflix, Disclosure, where the movie spreads awareness on the depiction of transgender characters throughout film and TV. Laverne Cox is also the first openly transgender person to appear on the covers of TIME Magazine, British Vogue, Cosmopolitan Magazine, and Essence Magazine. Kelly Rakowski

Kelly Rakowski started her journey creating a lesbian culture Insta account called ‘herstory” where she post about lesbian culture from the 1800s to early 2000s. Then she aimed higher to be the founder and CEO of Lex, a social app where LGBTQ+ people can connect to meet friends and build relationships.
