Ice Cream, Painting & Mimosas: Meet Up With Makers Mess LA

The LA Girl had our first IRL meet-up of 2022, were you there? If you missed it, no worries, but you will want to RSVP to get on the waitlist for the next one! We are so excited to invite you to come join our fun. Our entire team has been working hours in and hours out to make this day happen, and we cannot believe the day has already come and gone! Let’s dive into how we spent our day at the First LA Girl Meet Up of the Year with Makers Mess and Pan n Ice! AKA: An LA Girl’s dream, ice cream brunch, mimosas.

Who

Editor-in-Chief Erika De La Cruz, The LA Girl team, and some of our fabulous LA Girl community gathered together on April 21st \ at Makers Mess in Downtown Los Angeles for an afternoon full of joy. Adult arts & crafts, tasty mimosas, rolled ice cream from Pan-N-Ice, and wholesome quality time together; what could be better than that?! Let us emphasize that this was the LA Girls’ first meet-up of the year, and we promise it won’t be the last….Spots filled up quickly, conversation was packed with laughs and the painting was full of love.

What

Our fabulous group enjoyed their day learning watercolor techniques like the difference between wet and dry paper, brush strokes and brush blots. We were all able to channel our inner child with a fully pink packaged assortment of watercolors and all the tools we could possibly need to do the arts and crafts from home. Side note: These Makers Mess kits are available to purchase in-store at the Makers Mess shop, so run and grab your own if you missed our event! Our attendees used the techniques they had been taught to paint galaxies. Yes, you heard that right; we painted mini universes on our papers. After we completed our art to our own version of perfection, the lovely Maker’s Mess instructor, Rebecca, had each and every one of us share what our paintings meant to us. This was a great way to get guests out of their comfort zone while promoting an inclusive and positive environment for all of us to mix and mingle. Did I mention we got to devour rolled ice cream from Pan-N-Ice once we finished? Yum! Nothing better than unwinding from a busy week with some quality time with new friends, ice cream, and a paintbrush in hand.

Where

The meet-up took place at Arts and Craft shop Makers Mess, at the Row in Downtown Los Angeles. Makers Mess is an art studio and one-stop-shop that provides a creative experience and day of fun for you, your friends and family, or even co-workers! Meaning, you can book an activity of your choice to do with friends or fam all year long. We created watercolor works of art while sipping mimosas and enjoying each other’s company. We also had Pan-N-Ice on-site, serving tasty frozen treats to our guests after their art was complete. Pan-N-Ice is a British-owned brand that serves rolled ice cream with all of the yummy fixings. Not only do they serve ice cream, but they also sell their DIY Ice Cream Kits so you can create these tasty treats from the comfort of your own home! Look out for our upcoming newsletters because, lucky for you, we will be doing a giveaway (Yay!) for one reader to win a Pan-N-Ice Kit. Our guests and team enjoyed a wonderful afternoon with the creative ambiance and delicious flavors that our two partners had to offer. Make sure you check out the Makers Mess website for a complete list of their offerings and calendared classes.
