I met Grace Smith at one of my favorite places/events in the whole world, Soul Camp. I was fortunate enough to attend her hypnosis class and was pretty skeptical going into it. Before starting, Grace explained that “hypnosis is meditation with a goal.” And with a daily meditation practice, I figured, “Hey, why not?”
After my first hypnosis experience, I was pretty impressed. I was very surprised at what showed up for me during the session and very intrigued with what would happen next. As Grace told us, the effects of hypnotherapy can happen a few days or so after the session.
I went to her next hypnosis class the following day and was again astounded by the results. Everyone has a different experience, so you should try it out for yourself in Grace Space, the “Netflix for Hypnosis,” where you can do a free 10-day trial. But before we get into that, I’m so excited to introduce you to Grace Smith!
Grace Smith is a world-renowned hypnotherapist and founder of both Grace Space, “Your Virtual Hypnotherapist,” and Grace Space Hypnotherapy School.
Grace started off as a skeptic but when hypnosis transformed her life, and shortly thereafter the lives of her loved ones, she made it her mission to make hypnosis mainstream. Her private clients include celebrities, CEOs, professional athletes, and government officials; her keynote speeches and workshops have taken her to Proctor & Gamble, Summit.Live, Women Empowerment Expo, Ritz Carlton, PSE&G, Soul Camp and Verizon.
Grace has been featured in Marie Claire, Forbes, InStyle, MindBodyGreen, Brides.com, Yahoo, TechCrunch, The Hollywood Times and more. After hypnotizing millions of people on a hit show in Brazil (The Noite com Danilo Gentili), Grace’s segment went viral leading to regular television appearances and a large following for her daily stress relief hypnosis live streams.
Her first book on self-hypnosis, “Close Your Eyes, Get Free” will be hitting the shelves of all major retailers in August 2017.

Ex-corporate exec on a mission to make hypnosis mainstream! Love my three fur babies, seeing the world (50 countries + counting) & my beautiful Brazilian husband.
What’s your favorite thing about LA?
Every morning I walk through the Venice Canals – they’re magical.
What has been your favorite LA experience?
My husband and I call Erewhon (our local grocery store) “The Club” because everyone there is so gorgeous. Going “to the club” to pick up some almond milk or veggies has become a highlight, you never know which celebrities you’ll be rubbing elbows with at the checkout.
What inspired you to be a hypnotherapist?
I used hypnotherapy to quit smoking and was shocked when it worked so quickly. I wanted to know why this incredibly effective tool was mired in so much mystery and misunderstanding. I kept asking myself, “Why does anyone have emphysema… Why does anyone have lung cancer when this tool exists?”
I completed a certification in hypnotherapy simply to learn more about it, but I kept my day job. About a month later my husband’s father had a stroke and was paralyzed on the left side of his body. I was asked to go see him in the hospital to see if we could help with the depression he was experiencing. Halfway through our hypnotherapy session, he broke through his paralysis and voluntarily moved his arm for the first time in nearly three months; I’ve been on a full-time mission to make hypnosis mainstream ever since.
How did you come up with the idea for Grace Space?
In my first year in business, I conducted over 1,000 private hypnotherapy sessions (the result of a very effective Living Social campaign). By the end of the year, I was more exhausted than I had ever been and I realized I had helped far less than even 1% of the planet.
If I wanted to make hypnotherapy mainstream, I would need a way to be able to help hundreds, even thousands, of people simultaneously and at a price that was widely accessible. Grace Space was born as a way to provide a Virtual Hypnotherapist to anyone, anywhere in the world, at any time. Grace Space is filled with full-length hypnotherapy courses that I wrote and recorded on every major topic you can possibly think of. I am so incredibly proud of our community and how rapidly we are growing.
What is your advice to those who are hesitant to try hypnosis?
I totally understand! I was skeptical before my first session too. That is exactly why we created a 10-day Free Trial to Grace Space so that you can “try it before you buy it”. The fact of the matter is though, hypnosis is not what you’ve seen in the movies.
Hypnosis is simply meditation with a goal. Everyone can be hypnotized and it’s likely the most powerful tool for personal transformation that you haven’t tried yet. I’ll leave you with this stat which sums up the importance of giving hypnosis a shot more than anything else I could say…
A comparison study concluded the following:
Psychoanalysis: 38% recovery after 600 sessions
Behavior Therapy: 72% recovery after 22 sessions
Hypnotherapy: 93% recovery after 6 sessions
