The Vibe

Erika Flannery is the owner and launched Cafe La Jefa Palm Springs in 2021 with her husband. With their lifelong experience in design and hospitality,  opening an IG worthy cafe was the ultimate small business venture. They are open between 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Mondays – Wednesdays, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursdays, and 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Fridays – Sundays. The floral arrangements and brass-accented decor transform the cafe’s space into a desert oasis. There’s plenty of seating outside on the outdoor patio and inside too! The atmosphere nourishes its visitors and inspires their creativity with its architecture. Sometimes, the only way to drink coffee is by sipping it on the way to the next thing on your schedule. Cafe La Jefa also has a pink pickup window if you don’t have time for a sit-down experience. Erika loves to keep the menu fresh and strives to update it by creating new healthy meals and beverages.

The Menu

You’ll find creative coffees, classic espressos, teas and juices waiting for you. Bottled beverages are also available. The food options cater to everyone. There are timeless meals for vegetarians, vegans and carnivores alike. They also have a robust list of pasteries and baked goods. Food and takeout is available until 1PM Monday-Thursday, and 2PM Friday-Sunday.We also love that Cafe La Jefa prides itself on being one of the most accessible cafes in Palm Springs, which means it’s also more affordable than other coffee shops. The high-quality ingredients and expert preparation make each price worth every penny.

The Drinks

Cafe La Jefa Palm Springs’ drinks don’t disappoint. Try the daily drip, nitro cold brew or cold brew coffee made with Sisters coffee beans. Do you want something creamy and warm? The café au lait is a bold coffee blend that tastes as delectable as its velvety texture.There are also enough espresso options that you could try a new one every day of the week. Classic options like the Americano or the latte with a single espresso shot will start your day with an extra delicious caffeinated kick. We love the Cortado for a stronger brew or the Chagaccino to try Peruvian cacao, monk fruit and Ceylon cinnamon. The monk fruit is a natural liquid sweetener that pairs well with the organic sweet cacao.Tea lovers have plenty of choices, too. Iced teas, matcha mint lemonades and cardamom cold foam matchas make Cafe La Jefa stand out from its Palms Springs competitors. In addition,  Cafe La Jefa in Palm Springs provides numerous canned beverages like Recess sparkling water, Liquid Death, Harmless Harvest, Topo-Chico, Sparkling Botanicals and Fermensch Kombucha.

The Mains

It’s always best to arrive hungry when you visit Cafe La Jefa in Palm Springs. The Latin-influenced options include savory chilaquiles verdes, roasted veggie omelets and the signature La Jefa Breakfast sandwich with eggs, applewood-smoked bacon and potatoes.Classic breakfast fans can also order vegan bagels and buttermilk pancakes available while the kitchen is open. Order them alongside the dulce de leche French toast that arrives at your table with strawberries and whipped cream. Anyone who wants a smaller snack or a delectable side can choose from fresh fruit salad, acai bowls, Scottish smoked salmon, homemade salsa verde and breakfast potatoes. Order them early, as the sides are only available until 1 p.m. There’s even a lunch menu if you visit Cafe La Jefa just before 1 p.m. Salads, wraps and baja fish tacos are all made fresh for every order. Try the chicken bacon Caesar wrap or the grilled chicken sandwich on a brioche bun with chipotle aioli. You might also love the summer corn salad or the BLT sandwich with avocado slices.
