If you’re looking to get a break from the busy city but don’t want to spend hours in the car to get to your special destination, head down to Long Beach for a day or weekend of fun! Just a quick drive south (still in Los Angeles County), Long Beach is such a fun neighborhood to explore this summer. One of our favorite things about LA is that each neighborhood has its own unique vibe and culture, and Long Beach certainly offers the same with its beachy, small-town feel, as well as an exciting city atmosphere. The LA Girl has talked to a Long Beach local to collect the best spots in Long Beach for your next day-trip.
Claire’s at the Museum
Claire’s is the perfect brunch spot located at the beautiful Long Beach Museum of Art. This oceanfront restaurant is open Thursday – Sunday, and is a great place to kick off your day in LB, have a mimosa, and enjoy views of the ocean and Catalina Island. If you’re feeling up to it, stop by the museum as well!
Olives Gourmet Grocer
This is the cutest local grocery store/deli where you can get all the food items you need for a lovely picnic at the beach or at the park! Olives Gourmet Grocer is a town favorite and known for delivering the best quality.
4th Street Long Beach
4th Street has tons of quirky, retro shops, restaurants, and events featuring local artists and live music! Spend a few hours exploring this unique spot in town and grab a bite to eat because its an entire vibe!
Yoga at the Park
Level 9 Fitness Training holds free daily yoga classes on the Bluff in Long Beach from 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM. If you’re looking to meet some new friends and enjoy a workout with gorgeous ocean views, this is definitely the activity for you.
Belmont Shore is a must! This neighborhood, located on the beach, is filled with the cutest boutiques, restaurants, and cafes. Spend the evening here shopping, then a hot spot for dinner before heading to the beach to catch the sunset.
