The Unexpected

1. Westfield Century City

Address: 10250 Santa Monica Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90067

Yes, you read that right—a mall! Honestly, coming to Westfield Century City is one of the coolest work from home vibes in Los Angeles. They offer plenty of seating areas, free Wi-Fi, and the promise of retail therapy when you hit your goals. Just don’t let the shops lure you in too much. We also love that there is a Blue Bottle Coffee nearby for an extra pick me up. The first hour of parking is free at the mall, so just be sure you keep an eye on the time if you decide to make it an all day work sesh.

Cafés: Where Coffee Meets Creativity

1. Highly Likely Café (Highland Park)

Address: 5526 N Figueroa St, Los Angeles, CA 90042

This Highland Park gem has the perfect mix of laid-back vibes and fast Wi-Fi. The industrial-chic design and killer cold brew will have you feeling like a boss, even if you’re just catching up on emails. If you are planning on camping out here for a few hours you will want to order some food or bev, so we highly recommend their avocado toast, and our go-to coffee order here is the iced oat milk latte. Neighborhood spots and metered street parking are both available.

2. Alcove (Los Feliz)

Address: 1929 Hillhurst Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90027

Tucked inside a charming converted bungalow, Alcove’s garden patio offers a tranquil garden setting that feels like a mini escape as you sorta work from home in Los Angeles. With free wifi and an all-day menu, it’s easy to lose track of time here. The matcha latte is always a winner, and their breakfast dishes like the Lemon Ricotta Pancakes are always unique and delicious. Be sure to charge all your devices before you come here, as many of the outdoor spots don’t have an outlet. We also recommend valeting or parking on one of the side streets in Los Feliz, as Hillhurst can be quite busy during peak work times.

3. 10 Speed Coffee (Calabasas)

Address: 23504 Calabasas Rd, Calabasas, CA 91302

There are several 10 Speed locations, but something about the Calabasas location turns up our happy gears. Don’t let the cycling theme throw you off—10 Speed is a chill spot with coffee strong enough to fuel your next big idea. The free and fast wifi, plentiful outlets, relaxed atmosphere and outdoor seating make it a great place to focus and soak up some sun. Their nitro cold brew is next-level and we love that the staff are both friendly and super cool about people working their for a few hours at a time. Parking is limited but free.

Co-Working Spaces: For An Office Feel

1. LA in Common

Address: Bamboo Lane A, Los Angeles, CA 90012

This isn’t your average co-working space—it’s a productivity haven…or just a good time. You can create your own adventure here. LA in Common offers a ton of social and community events including professional networking mixers and even some meet and greets for singles and dog owners! We love their “Work or Don’t” parties for only $20, where you can bring your work, bring yourself and meet other people doing the same thing. They also offer late night festivities for the working night owls and free alcohol along with other fun drinks.

2. Bodega (Santa Monica)

Address: 1250 Third Street Promenade, Santa Monica, CA 90401

By day, it’s a co-working dream; by night, a wine bar. Bodega strikes the perfect balance between work and play, and the specialty coffee, tea, and charcuterie boards are a great way to celebrate finishing that big project. Patrons can relax in their lounge atmosphere with free Wi-Fi.  Just remember: work first, then wine. Parking can be a little hectic since it’s right in the Third Street Promenade location, but if you get there early enough you should be able to find metered parking close by.

3. One Culver (Culver City)

Address: 10000 Washington Blvd, Culver City, CA 90232

With its modern design and tons of natural light, One Culver is the kind of place that gets your creative juices flowing. The rooftop views are unbeatable, making it an ideal spot for brainstorming sessions with a view. We love this spot for a work from home shakeup. There are some free areas around the grounds where you can post up for the day, but for a more “official” working situation with lighting fast wifi, plentiful seating, restrooms, and outlets we recommend checking out WeWork’s membership plans or trying it out for the $49 Day Pass. There is both a paid parking garage and metered parking on the surrounding streets. If you’re looking to fuel up on coffee before heading into the office, check out the adorable Cafe Vida, just a block away.

Hotels: Luxury Meets Laptop

1. 1 Hotel (West Hollywood)

Address: 8490 Sunset Blvd, West Hollywood, CA 90069

If you’re looking to work with a view, 1 Hotel is the place to be. The rooftop pool on the Sunset Strip is a bonus for those “creative breaks,” and the plant-filled spaces create a serene atmosphere that’s perfect for getting those creative juices flowing. Plenty of gorgeous seating and the staff is super nice. Our favorite drink here? The refreshing cucumber cooler. As is the case with this hotel and everyone we list, just be aware that it may be about $15-$25 per day to park, but you can inquire about parking validation at their select restaurants and cafes.

2. Kimpton Everly (Hollywood)

Address: 1800 Argyle Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90028

With a lobby that feels more like a chic co-working space than a hotel, the Kimpton Everly is perfect for when you want to feel a little fancy while getting things done. Picture this: You’re sipping their signature Everly latte, gazing at the Hollywood Hills, and feeling like a star we know you are. Their co-working deals are super affordable for just $10 a day, $40 a week, or $100 a month, you’ll get WiFi, endless coffee, and a chance to rub elbows with LA’s coolest remote workers. Spring for the monthly pass, and you’ll even score access to their rooftop pool – hello, working tan! Just a heads up: parking can be a bit of a headache (we’re talking $60 for valet), so we recommend carpooling with your other nomad buddies or grabbing an Uber.

3. The Edition (West Hollywood)

Address: 9040 Sunset Blvd, West Hollywood, CA 90069

Daily WiFi, craft cocktails, artisanal coffees, and a wide range of seating options for productivity? The Edition’s lobby is a remote worker’s paradise in the heart of West Hollywood. It’s one of the most stunning places to catch up on emails. However, parking can also be challenging for this spot as it is with aforementioned Kimpton, with daily rates up to $60 or the need to feed meters nearby. Consider ride-sharing or getting dropped off to freely explore Sunset Blvd. While there’s no entry fee for the Lobby bar, it’s courteous to purchase an item every couple of hours and tip the hardworking staff.

Pools: Productivity & a Tan!

1.The Roosevelt Hotel (Hollywood)

Address: 7000 Hollywood Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90028

Work poolside at this Hollywood icon and you’ll feel like you’re on a work-cation, even if you’re just a few miles from home. The atmosphere captures the glamour of old Hollywood and is the perfect mix of laid-back and luxurious with free WiFi and great drink options inside—just don’t forget your SPF! P.S. Did you know there’s a bowling alley at the Roosevelt? You do now. There are plenty of outlets inside the Roosevelt lobby to charge your laptop in between pool splashing.

2. Mama Shelter (Hollywood)

Address: 6500 Selma Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90028

Head to the rooftop for a workday with a view. With a 360 degree panorama of LA, your productivity (and your Instagram game) will be on point. The lively atmosphere and stunning scenery make it a favorite spot for both work and play. This is a great spot to invite other friends and turn your work from home in Los Angeles session into a co-working a fun treat. This spot can get bustling and loud, so it’s a great choice for work that doesn’t take a ton of quiet or concentration. We’ve had good luck with using a HotSpot here if WiFi isn’t coming in great, but do make sure you come with a full battery. Parking garages nearby typically offer spots for $15-$20 for the whole day.

The Library: Peace and Quiet

1.Huntington Library (Pasadena)

Address: 1151 Oxford Rd, San Marino, CA 91108

Known for its stunning gardens, the Huntington Library also has serene reading rooms perfect for deep focus. The peaceful atmosphere is unmatched, making it ideal for writing or brainstorming sessions. Reward yourself with a ticket to their garden stroll once your work is done. While the Huntington Library is free to visit and WiFi is available for visitors, the Gardens do cost $29, unless you sign up before and are lucky to snag a ticket for their Free Day, the first Thursday of every month.

2. Brand Library (Glendale)

Address: 1601 W Mountain St, Glendale, CA 91201

This architectural beauty is a hidden gem for those who need a quiet space to work. The Spanish-Moorish design adds a touch of inspiration to your workday, and the art galleries within the library provide a perfect creative break when you need to recharge. Free wifi, plenty of seating and floor outlets are abound, but the only minor drawback with this beautiful space is that there isn’t a ton of food or drink options within walking distance, so come prepared with snacks and water ready to go.
