What we love about going out to a brewery is that there are always an array of beer options, appetizers, main dishes, and are perfect for sports lovers (and foodies) to watch their favorite team while sipping on an ice cold beer. The best breweries in Los Angeles are probably closer to you than you think! So here’s a list of our 7 best breweries in Los Angeles worth checking out.

1. Atwater Village Brewpub

Did ya know that Golden Road Brewing originated in Los Angeles?  Not only that, it’s also FEMALE FOUNDED too! Check out Golden Road’s full line of delicious beers on tap at their HQ in Atwater Village (just a few blocks from Griffith Park) where the family friendly environment is perfect for a summer day well spent. We love staying a while here, ordering a few glasses with some amazing food too (like their Avo-Tacos or Birria fries), and catching up with our besties. What’s super cool about LA’s largest brewery too, (trust us it is) they are pup friendly and have a bevy of lawn games and live music to keep the good vibes going. P.S. They have a Downtown LA location too.

2. Angel City Brewery

Location: 216 N Alameda St, Los Angeles

Founded in 1997, Angel City Brewery is quite the unique place and is a bridge between local artists and community. Located in LA’s Arts District, the brewery features a great variety of beer on their diverse menu and food. We recommended trying some of their core options including the Angel City Pilsner, a German-style Pilsner featuring a dry finish, or their “To Live and Thai in LA” with its spicy citrus aroma and Southeast Asian flare.Their beer currently on tap is their amazing  “Champurrado”:  a Mexican style chocolate beer with hints of vanilla, toffee, and cinnamon. What makes the brewery one 0f the best breweries in Los Angeles is their own food truck named “House Made.” Food options include tacos, carnitas, sandwiches and wings. Angel City Brewery also strongly advocates for local creatives and artists by partnering with Art Share L.A. Together, they have created over 50 gallery shows and continue to highlight artists through the year.

Breakfast, salads, appetizers, along with burgers and sandwiches are some flavorful food options and we highly recommended checking out the posh and alluring speakeasy located behind the brewery. The speakeasy named “The Study” is perfect for cocktail lovers and vintage vibes. Every month, the brewery offers “The Beer Society” where the head brewer educates attendees on their freshly crafted beer paired with goods from local bakers and artisans around LA.

Location: 422 Magnolia Ave, Glendale CA

Paperback Brewing Co.offers many flagship and seasonal themed beers. Their fun selection includes a “Weird Science,” themed beer based on the 1985 film, and “Brewmaster Jones,” based off the Indiana Jones film. Highly recommended to go along with their unique beer options are their smash burgers (the queso birria stuffed burger, with braised beef, pepper-jack cheese and Mexican crema is our favorite). Delicious and satisfying, this is worthy of a stop as one of the best breweries in Los Angeles.
