Beetlejuice is Back! How To Get More Beyond The Movie

Can you believe it’s been 36 years since Beetlejuice debuted on the big screens and ever since then fans have been wanting so much MORE! Well the iconic Tim Burton answered the call in a BIG way. In case you’ve been living under a rock, the JUICE IS LOOSE. Yes babes, Beetlejuice is back in theaters in sequel form – Beetlejuice Beetlejuice. It just opened up last weekend in theaters and its already made over $110 MILLION dollars at the box office. Trust us, this movie couldn’t have come out at a better time. It’s hyping everyone up for Halloween, not to mention, the huge press tour has inspired so many fashion trends to emerge straight out of the original movie. So if you want to summon more Beetlejuice in your own life there’s no need to say his name three times. Sure you can always watch the movie again, but here are some special ways to get your Beetlejuice fix beyond the movie here in LA.

Visit Beetlejuice Beetlejuice: The Afterlife Experience

Fever, LA’s destination for the most exciting events and experiences in LA, has brought to life a one of a kind, immersive experience, called Beetlejuice Beetlejuice: The Afterlife Experience. We were able to get a taste of this experience that truly brings visitors inside the new movie.

First, we traveled through afterlife immigration that lead us to a party with Beetlejuice and some of his “friends.” We got our “horrorscope” read by Nadia the fortune teller, then got a deadly makeover with Miss Argentina at “A Brush with Death Salon.” We also encountered and pet a real sandworm (we hate em’ right?), and so much more. There is a bar..yay! The Afterlife Diner has signature drinks and bites themed to the film and throughout the experience there were spontaneous dance breaks that made it even more fun! What was so great was that there were so many incredible photo ops with props and scenes from the movie and there are a number of enthusiastic cast members embracing their afterlife characters walking around the exhibit to make it more realistic.

This is a MUST VISIST for all Beetlejuice fans. You’ll want to stay in the afterlife all day! But act now, because Beetlejuice Beetlejuice: The Afterlife Experience is a limited-time event. So grab your tickets here before it joins the dearly departed.

Dress to Kill

Like we mentioned, the press tour for Beetlejuice Beetlejuice has been out of this living world, and the stars came to play with their fashion. Let’s start with our favorite Latina and Tim’s muse – Jenna Ortega. From London, to Venice, to Mexico City, to New York, every fit had a nod to the nostalgic film. I think our favorite was the custom Harris Reed gown made up of upcycled wallpaper!! Crazy! She even carried a bag in the shape of the house of Delia Deetz.

Speaking of Delia Deetz, the lovely Catherine O’Hara has brought out all the stops when it came to her press tour looks. We love that she channeled both Delia and a little bit of Moira Rose for this tour. But we loved this casual jumpsuit she wore to a photocall in Venice. It was the perfect homage to the Beetlejuice and looked effortlessly chic too!

Finally – the crème de la crème of Beetlejuice – Ms.. Neither strange or unusual, but simply fashionable – Winonna is still as spunky and youthful as ever and her fits showed that. She opted mostly for black ensembles, but out of all of them we’d have to say our favorite gown was the one she wore at the Venice World Premiere. Gorgeous tulle ball skirt, fitted tuxedo jacket and scarf, this was a look that mixed both masculine and feminine and took the cake for the press tour. And we’ve come to find out it was custom Chanel Haute Couture. Of course!

Feeling like you need to elevate this fashion experience even more? Luckily Saks has curated an entire collection of Beetlejuice inspired wear with special Rodarte dresses, Jimmy Choo bags, even Fabergé has come out with custom jewels and lapel pins with a Beetlejuice twist. And if you’ve ever wanted to rock Miss Argentina’s pink dress, Beetlejuice’s striped suit, or Lydia’s red wedding gown now is your moment. So many shops are selling the cutest Beetlejuice-inspired outfits. Score spooky looks at stores like Forever 21Killstar, Vixen by Micheline Pitt, and Spirit Jersey. The clothes range from subtle nods to the movie, to replicas of iconic looks.

Movie Makeup

Dressing up isn’t the only thing to do to get your Beetlejuice fit fix. Try pairing your outfits with some film inspired goodies that will glam you up in the best after life way.  NYX Cosmetics and Splat Hair Color both have dropped Beetlejuice collaborations. Their Recently Deceased Palette includes both matte and glittery shadows, while the Afterlife Passport Cheek Pallete will have you living in color with three blush shades. There are also eyeliners, lip glosses, and accessories! Splat’s Beetlejuice collab ranges from permanent dye to wash-out products. Rock bold red, pinks, greens, and purples on your hair or try silver streaks, magenta, or tanzanite dye.

Stream The Animated Series

Did you know that there is a Beetlejuice cartoon? Yup, you’re not imagining things. Beetlejuice The Animated Series ran from 1989-1991. The series slightly differs from the original movie, with Beetlejuice and Lydia becoming best friends and going on adventures in the “Netherworld.” For a while, the series was difficult to find and was only available on DVD, but now you can stream it on Tubi and Roku – both are free to use!

Dine Like The Dead

Just for the film’s release, Beetle House LA is celebrating with themed items like specialty drinks. Denny’s also has a limited-time-only Afterlife Menu ( the $2 $6 $6 $8 Value Menu) and we want to devour it all. Breakfast lovers can enjoy The Say it Three Times Slam, which comes with 3 eggs, 3 silver dollar chocolate chip pancakes with vanilla cream, and 3 strips of bacon. Or, you can’t go wrong with a classic Beetlejuicy Burger – 3 patties topped with 3 strips of bacon, 3 slices of provolone cheese, Diner Q sauce, and the normal burger fixings. Be sure to save room for dessert – the Cookies and Scream Shake made with vanilla ice cream, Oreos, whipped cream, and sprinkles.
