Where to Go Roller Skating In Los Angeles

Whether it’s in-line skating or rollerblading, outdoors or indoors, get ready to get your heart pumping and those endorphins flowing! Here is a great list of where to roller-skate in Los Angeles!

Venice Beach

Let’s start with one of the most picturesque and popular places to rollerblade in LA… Venice Beach! You can skate your way to Santa Monica along the boardwalk or even further if your legs can last long enough! Plus, there’s rentable bikes in the area so your friends can join the ride with you. This is a great spot if you’re looking for where to go roller skating in Los Angeles.

Long Beach

Long Beach is by far one of LA’s favorite beach cities and it’s also one of the best places to go roller skating! Snoop Dogg isn’t the only person enjoying LBC, skaters do too. There’s a beautiful boardwalk near the water that’s smooth sailing for skaters and bikers alike, so you can take in the beachy breeze and get your workout on. There’s even a few breweries along the way if you’d like to imbibe in between skating. If you’re looking for a super chic rink to get some practice in, we suggest heading up to Pigeon’s Roller Rink at the 2nd & PCH shopping center. It’s got a retro vibe, large enough rink, and a real good playlist to skate to. We also love that after working up a sweat, we can hit up the stores and do some shopping.

Pasadena

Old Town Pasadena is great for shopping, eating and people watching, but it’s also a cute neighborhood to go on a skating adventure. There’s lot’s of tree coverage around so on that day where it gets a bit too hot, head here! Just beware of traffic on this route when you’re crossing streets. The best part about this option is after you’re all done, there’s plenty of cute restaurants and shops to have a bite or go shopping!

Hermosa Beach

Hermosa Beach boardwalk isn’t just another boardwalk, it’s a little more calm and collected than it’s sister in Venice. You’ll see lots of dog owners running, biking and skating, so it’s safe to say your pup can come along! Or bring a swimsuit and take a dip in the ocean afterwards, you won’t regret it!

As beautiful as the outdoors can be, LA also has indoor rinks for you or your friends to skate if you need skate rentals or lessons. Roller rinks are also a great idea for a throwback themed party!

Glendale

Moonlight Rollerway in Glendale is hands down one of the coolest retro roller rinks. From four wheel roller blades to old school purple confetti carpet, you’ll get all the best vibes. The rink is a great size and what’s a great throwback to the 70s or 80s without music to match? The DJ is always on point and if you get hungry the snack bar awaits.

Riverside

Epic Rollertainment in Riverside is another one to check out! The pizza is made fresh daily, the music makes you want to dance, and there’s an EPIC arcade, what more could you ask for? Alcohol? Well, they have wine based whiskey, rum or vodka, so you can enjoy a cocktail when you take a break to hydrate and catch your breath!

Vernon

But if you’re looking to go extreme, check out the all female, bank tracked roller derby league Derby Dolls! Watch them compete at the Dollhalla in Vernon or even better take a class with them! The “Skills For Thrills” class isn’t just a way to get fit, it teaches you roller derby techniques, so if you ever decide to go pro, you’re prepared. Don’t worry if you’re too nervous to skate though, they welcome an audience!

Mid City

World on Wheels is a classic spot in Midtown Los Angeles, and a great place for parties, or just to hang out. It’s got that classic roller rink feel that will give you all the throwback feels.

Rollerblading is ironically one of the most difficult and relaxing experiences, so wherever you decide to skate around LA, make sure to enjoy yourself!
