1. Sunset Ranch Hollywood Stables

Sunset Ranch is kind of a hidden gem, not many people know about it. Ride through the Hollywood Hills where you’ll get incredible views of the LA basin, the Hollywood Sign, the entire city of LA, Griffith Park, and if you’re lucky, see some wildlife. This ranch does trail tours starting at $75/a hour, or $125/2 hours. The tour will be led by a super knowledgeable guide who wants to make sure you have the best time ever. Their 5pm slot is perfect because your ride will start off super bright and sunny, and you’ll also get to watch the sunset. Make sure to bring your phone so you can take plenty of IG-worthy photos. This is the perfect experience to share with friends and family, and to recharge in nature. No experience is necessary for these tours. The guides will give you a quick horseback riding lesson and assign an easier horse for you if you’re a beginner. 2. High Horse Malibu

Take horseback riding lessons and tours in the Malibu countryside with spectacular views of the Pacific ocean. Embark on a magical hour and a half journey, Latigo Canyon Ride, for $175. Ride through private trails in the heart of the Malibu mountains and see spectacular views of the ocean. After your ride, you can hang out around the ranch and feed the horses carrots. 3. Los Angeles Horseback Riding
Location: 2623 Old Topanga Canyon Rd, Topanga, CA 90290
Los Angeles Horseback Riding has some of the most beautiful views and unique riding times. They offer an array of horseback riding tours, including economy rides (normal), romantic packages, Valentine’s rides, wedding specials, sunset rides, moon lit rides, and they also host birthday parties. The ranch is located at the top ridge of the Santa Monica Mountains that connects Topanga and Malibu. The trails are a part of the Santa Monica Backbone Trail with gorgeous views in every direction. On a clear day, you can see mountain and ocean views. On the sunset and moonlight rides, there are gorgeous views and thriving wildlife including hawks, deer, and coyotes. Seriously, who wouldn’t be able to fall in love here? You will be given a quick horseback riding lesson or refresher before you ride off into the sunset. 4. Oceanview Performance Horses

Oceanview Performance Horses is an amazing place to have horseback riding lessons in LA. They specialize in Western riding programs at Portuguese Bend Riding Club with talented instructors who teach basic and advanced ranch riding and gymkhana. The horseback riding lessons focus on hands-on horsemanship and developing skills so riders can become confident with their horses and safe riders. Instructors want to help all riders of all levels achieve their goals from recreational trail riding to formal showings. The private horseback riding lessons are about a 1 hr. long ranging from $95-$105 depending on the instructor, and the group horseback riding lessons are 1 hr. long ranging from $80-$95. The lessons include grooming, tacking, and riding. They also offer leasing of their horses for regular students. There’s also a summer camps for juniors, seniors, and adults where you can spend the week becoming confident and independent Western riders, and gain extraordinary horsemanship skills. Sagebrook Farms is the place to go if you’re serious about taking horseback riding lessons and improving your skills. They offer horseback riding lessons for every level rider, from “new” to “advanced.” The discipline of Classical English Riding and Hunter/Jumpers are offered. They want to you to meet your goals whether that’s to gain basic skills, aiming for the show arena, or learning how to own your own horse, they provide you will all the training and knowledge to get you there. They offer a variety of horseback riding lessons from summer camps, to private and semi-private lessons, to group lessons if you want to go with some friends! All lessons start at $145, and you can even take a horsemanship class for $65.
