Fashion was a force of nature at the 2024 Met Gala last night. Highly considered the “Oscars of Fashion” – this year’s theme – titled The Garden of Time – proved every look was worthy of an award. Everyone wore vintage couture, understated florals, and naked dresses. 450 of Hollywood A-listers, designers, & stylists arrived at New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art on Monday for the biggest night in fashion, but only a few came as the best dressed. We had fun choosing our favorites (pretty sure they are yours too!) from the red carpet to the afterparties. So here’s our list of the best looks from the 2024 Met Gala (and how you can wear similar styles right now!).
1. Kendall Jenner
She’s nine-time attendee, so we’re not surprised that supermodel Kendall Jenner dominated this year’s red carpet. To reawaken fashion, the L’Oreal Ambassador blew the dust off of a vintage Givenchy two-piece from 1999. Although the haute couture never made it to the runway, it looks like it was designed for Kendall (and had no alterations too). “It just fit perfectly,” she says. Reminiscent of Bob Mackie, this set has over 100,000 beads and sequins, and it shows off her famous physique with its plunging neckline and waistband. Speaking of a plunging neckline, check out her after-party looks. Jenner wore two bodacious white dresses after walking the carpet. She kicked things off in a lacy mini-dress with strappy sandals from Vivienne Westwood, then we saw her in another vintage Givenchy gown, but this time, with a breast line made of angel wings.

2. Bad Bunny
It’s been a busy year for Benito. After headlining Coachella and dropping his fifth studio album in October last year, the Puerto Rican superstar kept himself busy in the role of co-Chair of the 2024 Met Gala. Known for his shocking and innovative personal style, the singer wore this season’s Maison Margiela (by John Galliano). He walked the carpet in head-to-toe navy suit. Bad Bunny topped off his striped smoking jacket and form-fitting trousers with a reverse-swatched hat made of stockings. Margiela x Louboutin were responsible for his unique footwear, which included white and brown fur on the ankles. In his hands are not only leather gloves, but also a floral bouquet that honors his birthplace of Puerto Rico and the fairy tale of Sleeping Beauty. Never afraid to stand out in neutrals, Bad Bunny was spotted at Emily Ratajkowski’s after party in loose-fitting khakis, a chocolate leather trench, and his favorite orange-tinted sunglasses, and Bottega Veneta white pointed-toe boots to match a sleek button-down shirt and diamond stud earrings.

3. Emily Ratajkowski
The naked dress has evolved into a modern classic on the runway and on red carpets, but Emily Ratajkowski wears the look as effortless as pj’s. She combined opulence and ostentatious in this hand-beaded, silver dress from Donatella Versace (F/W 2001). Leaving little to the imagination, EmRata’s dress was backless, with a sharp tapering around the bikini line. To emphasize the back of the gown, she threw her hair in a bun, and left the accessories understated with gold sandal heels and earrings. She changed into a Givenchy (Lee McQueen) sheer and hand-beaded look to host her own after party. But this time she wore bejeweled black lingerie underneath a sheer minidress. With showgirl star power, the sheer gown was studded with bright blue stars and fringe along the neckline and skirt. For that extra stomp in her step, Ratajkowski slipped into knee-high gladiators ( a 2014 summer trend that will be back this year!).

4. Zendaya
Just like Bad Bunny, Zendaya co-hosted the Met Gala on top of an already jam-packed year. The actress just came off a press tour for her latest blockbuster film, Challengers, and we want to know: how does she find the time to host the biggest fashion event of the year? On press tours, Zendaya is famous for wearing clothes that reflect the vibe of her character and film, so we would’ve expected to see her in a Miu Miu mini skirt or Tom Ford Suit for this year’s Met. Nope. She wore many gowns that night (yup she changed 4 times, including an after party look), and kicked things off in a custom Maison Margiela gown, designed by John Galliano. This ocean blue gown was adorned with sage lamé, organza bias-cut, and a hand-embroidered corsage. To complete the already-edgy look, Zendaya wore deep purple eyeshadow and lips. Finishing it off with a feathered burette atop freshly blonde-dyed hair. For the Loewe after party, Zendaya showed up in a custom column slate-grey gown designed by Loewe while hanging out with friends Law Roach and Mike Faist.

5. Cardi B
On the red carpet, Cardi B arrived in an expansive black tulle gown that required five handlers to hold the train as she worked the room. Designed by Chinese designer Windowsen, the Grammy-winner was able to have a dress that was as grand as she is. The plunging neckline on this opulent ballgown was adorned with feather-like material that wrapped around her neck. From a birds-eye view, the folds within the skirt resembled the intricate shape of a black rose. Matching the dress, Cardi wore a black head wrap, but to add some color, she opted for an emerald earrings, rings, necklace, and don’t forget her nails. Afterward, the rapper hosted an all night party with Revolve and FWRD in a Jessica Rabbit-like red gown from Revolve Atelier. The matching corset and bustier top flattered her signature curves, and she brought a 1940’s glamour with an Old-Hollywood inspired hairdo.

6. Usher
Just three months after his legendary Super Bowl performance, Usher arrived to the Met in Alexander McQueen. On the carpet, we saw Usher in a sequined black suit and cape adorned with black roses. To top it off, he wore a black patent leather hat. For a pop of red, the “Yeah!” singer opted for luxe ruby-encrusted accessories. His Jacob & Co. watch (known as the Billionaire Ruby III), was appraised for $5 million. To match the watch, Usher held a ruby-studded rose throughout the night. At his own garden-themed after party at the Casa Cipriani hotel, the Grammy winner wore a maroon velvet suit adorned with fresh roses.

7. Sabrina Carpenter
Sabrina Carpenter went to Wonderland with beau Barry Keoghan for their red carpet debut at the Met Gala. The Espresso singer paid tribute to Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland with a blue and black gown designed by Oscar De La Renta. Keoghan, in Burberry, opted for a brown velvet suit, silk poplin shirt, and over-the-top hat inspired by the Mad Hatter. At the afterparty, the pop star changed into a baby blue mini dress that was perfect for dancing all night. Also designed by Oscar De La Renta, the Alice-inspired dress had a form-fitting corset top and an A-line short skirt embossed with faux hydrangeas. To complete the look, Sabrina slipped into white platform Mary Jane’s and a diamond necklace just for good measure.

8. Kylie Jenner
Kylie Jenner epitomized statement silhouettes and monochromatic simplicity at this year’s met. In her most sophisticated look yet, the Kylie Cosmetics mogul walked the carpet in a satin bustier dress that was inspired by two 1950’s beauties: Marilyn Monroe and garden statues from “The Garden of Time” story that inspired the Met theme. The cone-shaped top created glamorous curves that both Marilyn and Kylie are known for. To match the dress, she star wore off-white accessories like a fresh white rose in her hair, leather slingback pumps, and two large diamond rings on her left hand.

9. Jessica Biel
After 11 years, Jessica Biel returned to the met in a statement petal gown and a beauty secret that broke the internet. Before arriving to the met, the actress bathed in 20lbs of epsom salt for 30 minutes for a refreshing red carpet glow. Designed by Tamara Ralph, this hot pink gown shined in photographs with its delicate flower petals and silver beading. The plunging v-neckline and sizable train elongated the 7th Heaven alum, who arrived at the Met without her husband Justin Timberlake. For jewelry, Biel accessorized in a flashy Cartier set that included a cuff necklace, large ring, and hoop earrings.

10. Nicole Kidman
Once referred to as the world’s most beautiful person, we knew that Nicole Kidman was going to set the bar high on the red carpet. But compared to all the other celebs, Nicole’s flamenco-inspired ball gown may have been the best look all night. Designed by the late Crisobal Balenciaga, this two-toned dress took over 800 hours of hand embroidery and was photographed for Harper’s Bazaar in April of 1951 by Richard Avedon. She fit perfectly into the couture dress, which features a black ruffled skirt that is covered by an ivory satin bodice and train. The strapless, sweetheart bustier and full-length opera gloves accentuate her décolletage. And for that extra bling, the highest-paid actress wore a set of diamond bracelets from Harry Winston.
