Things to do in LA in November

As the holiday season fast approaches and fall is in full swing, there is so much to do this November. Here’s our list of LA Girl approved activities to welcome our favorite time of the year.

Christmas in LA:

Descanso Gardens: Enchanted Forest of Light

November 19th-January 7th, 5:30-10pm

Location: 1418 Descanso Drive, La Cañada Flintridge, CA 91011

Enjoy this shimmering spectacular nighttime experience. Enchanted Forest of Light features a one-mile walk through unique festive lighting displays. Popular displays include a town of stained glass, geometric installations, and flower art. The route is also wheelchair and stroller accessible, so this is the perfect family activity. Ice at Santa Monica

Open November 1st-January 15th.

Location: Corner of Arizona Ave and Fifth Street in Downtown Santa Monica

Just because we live in Southern California doesn’t mean we can’t experience the winter holiday festivities. The winter wonderland is back in the heart of Santa Monica with the seasonal ice skating rink. With themed nights, live music, and plenty of festive decorations, its safe to say this coastal ice rink is the perfect way to welcome winter.  The first-come first-serve grand opening event on November 9th (from 5- -8pm) features free admission, ice skating lessons, a live DJ, and magical on-ice entertainers. If you can’t make the event, no worries; the rink is open daily November 1st through January 15th. Hours are 11:30am-9:30pm on Sundays through Thursdays and 11:30am-11pm on Fridays and Saturdays. Holly Jolly Holiday Bar

November 12th-December 30th

Location: 603 N La Cienega Blvd, West Hollywood

If you’re looking for delicious holiday cocktails, you’re in luck! This festive spot features cocktails, bites, and holiday music and entertainment to get into the spirit of the season. Plus, with holiday lights, ornaments, and tinsel, there are so many photo opportunities. The bar is open from November 12th to December 30th from 6-10pm. Rodeo Drive Holiday Lighting Ceremony

November 16th, 5pm-8pm

Location: Rodeo Drive, Beverly Hills

Join the City of Beverly Hills and Rodeo Drive Committee for a festive holiday celebration. Experience magical light displays throughout the city of Beverly Hills. Mariah Carey’s “Merry Christmas One and All”

Location: Hollywood Bowl, 2301 N Highland Ave, Los Angeles

It’s not the Holiday season without Mariah Carey. The “All I Want for Christmas is You” singer is going on a Christmas tour with a stop in LA. Holiday in the Park Los Angeles

November 17th, 5pm-9pm

Location: Magnolia Park, West Magnolia Blvd, Burbank

This annual event is the perfect way to get in the holiday spirit. Support small businesses by shopping from over 100 food vendors, artisans, and local organizations who will be present. Plus, enjoy live music and dance performances as well as a classic car exhibit. Plus, this is the perfect family friendly event with crafts, a bounce house, and Santa photos for the little ones. Burbank Winter Wine Walk

November 18th, 12pm-8pm

Location: San Fernando Blvd, Burbank

If you want a magical day in Burbank, this wine walk is perfect for you. Start the afternoon with a FREE vendor fair and entertainment at 12pm. At 4pm, grab your walking shoes and wine glass for the wine walk. Every guest receives a tasting cup to walk through the various booths to sample wine and beer from local vendors. Love Actually at the Wallis

Love Actually is our favorite holiday movie! This year, to celebrate the film’s 20th anniversary, enjoy a live reenactment of this festive romance. Watch live scenes from the movie portrayed by all-star singers and a live orchestra. Plus, the film director Richard Curtis will donate all royalties from this live production to Comic Relief, a UK-based charity that fights poverty. You don’t want to miss this holiday classic. Los Angeles Ballet’s Annual Nutcracker Tea at Waldorf Astoria

November 18th-19th, 10am and 1:30pm

Location: Waldorf Astoria Hotel, 9850 Wilshire Blvd, Beverly Hills

Join the Los Angeles Ballet and Waldorf Astoria Hotel to enter a magical winter wonderland. This high tea features all the holiday vibes and a special performance of excerpts of The Nutcracker. Holiday Road Immersive Experience

Tinseltown Christmas Bar

November 24th-December 30th

Location: Pattern Bar, 100 W 9th St, Los Angeles

This Christmas themed speakeasy is the perfect way to get into the holiday spirit. Enjoy fabulous holiday themed cocktails and mocktails at the holiday pop-up bar. Giving Tuesday Blood Drive w/ “Candy Cane Lane”

In celebration of Prime Video’s upcoming holiday comedy, Candy Cane Lane, Prime Video is teaming up with American Red Cross to celebrate Giving Tuesday with a  blood drive at The Culver Theater. This isn’t your normal blood drive, they’re planning to deck the theater and transform it into a whimsical wonderland space featuring props and decorations from the movie, plus holiday activities. Barefoot Dreams Sample Sale

Classic Cinema Night at Cinegrill Theater

These cinema nights occurring throughout November and December are perfect for the movie buffs. Renowned Film Critic and Winemaker Jose Ignacio Cuenca is hosting this series to pay homage to classic film. Enjoy classic movies along with delicious wine from Little Boat Winery. Greylin Sample Sale

Lightscape at the LA Arboretum

Grammy Salute to 50 Years of Hip-Hop

November 8th, 6pm

Location: Youtube Theater, 1011 Stadium Dr, Inglewood

Come experience a live star-studded hip hop experience with the return of The Fresh Prince himself – Will Smith – and DJ Jazzy Jeff. The duo is set to reunite at this tribute concert to the genre’s history and impact on culture. Watch performances by more artists like Queen Latifah, Rakim, Remi Ma, and so much more. Exhibition 009: Under Pressure Opening

Beyond the Streets and Control Gallery are hosting an art exhibit to explore the power of airbrush. The show is curated by Mister CARTOON— the master of airbrush himself—and highlights 16 artists from a variety of age and experience backgrounds. This exhibit pays tribute to the history of airbrush and its evolution from graphic design to becoming an art form. Artists will be onsite for the opening night on November 3rd.

“The Wedding That Never Was,” A One Woman Show
