Do it for the Insta! It’s a thing now to go around the city taking photo of walls to post on your Instagram. Inspired by bloggers and influencers on Instagram, it’s become a tourist attraction for travelers as well. I’ve done several shoots and posted them on Instagram and the question I always get is, “where is that wall??” So here are 9 Instagram-worthy walls in Los Angeles, located in the DTLA area with the exact address so that you too can get your Insta-on!
1. Goddess Wall
Location: 700 W 8th Street
You’re probably familiar with artist WRDSMTH and Colette Miller‘s Angel Wings Project. That’s because they’re all around the city and the world. These two famous street artists did this collab for The Bloc LA. I’m a huge fan of both of them, so this piece is a real treat.
2. Elephant Wall
Location: 298 Rose Street
This is a new wall in the Arts District area featuring three elephants, with the artist unknown.
3. Woman on the Wall
Location: 700 Traction Avenue
This Arts District Wall has been updated recently with more vibrant colors and is just a few doors down from The Pie Hole.
4. The Original Angel Wings
Location: 801 East 4th Place
This is Colette Miller’s first Angel Wings piece before she shared the Angel Wings Project all over the world. It’s located right next to the Art Share LA building.
5. Black and White Wall
Location: 303 S Hewitt Street
This is also a fairly new wall in the Arts District and is located right next to the Writings Wall (FYI, these are not official names and I just made them for the sake of identification purposes).
6. Third Eye Wall
Location: 707 East 3rd Street
This wall wraps around the EightyTwo bar featuring classic arcade games. When the bar is closed, you’ll get access to this wall of eyes.
7. Bloom Wall
Location: 298 Rose Street
This is a fairly new wall in the Arts District area created by HUEMAN. It’s located in a parking lot so it’s best to go early in the morning before any cars are parked to get your perfect shot.
8. Art Share LA Wall
Location: 801 East 4th Place
This wall wraps around Art Share LA which was founded in 1997. Their mission is to support local artists by offering community programs such as classes, exhibitions and events.
9. Writings Wall
Location: 303 S Hewitt Street
This wall is located next to the Black and White Wall, so you can hit them both at the same time!
Since many of these are located in the Arts District, you can park and walk to several of these in a short amount of time. I suggest going early in the morning to avoid crowds and not have to compete with other Instagrammers.
Just a reminder that since this is street art, they may not be permanent – so better get that pic before they’re gone!!
