The annual 2022 Met Gala was held this week in New York City at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Not that this iconic event needs an introduction, but the Met Gala is one of the most exclusive and prestigious fashion events, that takes place every first Monday of May, hosted by none other than Vogue’s Editor-in-Chief, Anna Wintour. This year’s Met Gala theme was “Gilded Glamour,” a concept inspired by New York’s Gilded Age, and left plenty of room for interpretation.
Delicate and Chic
Some like to go all out for the Met Gala, but bigger doesn’t necessarily mean better… We’re not saying we weren’t completely obsessed with Katy Perry’s iconic chandelier moment a few years ago…(because we were,) but there were some stunning and simplified looks this year that we can’t get over. Starting with miss Emma Chamberlain, looking very glamorous in Louis Vuitton and Cartier. This was only Emma’s second Met, and I think we can all agree that she’s one to get fashion inspo from.
Next we have Regé-Jean Page wearing a velvet Giorgio Armani Suit for his first time at the Met, followed by Hailey Bieber looking like a real life angel in silk YSL… and a few more of our favorites as well.

A Few of our Personal Picks…
This year’s Met Gala red carpet was filled with so many incredible works of art… Many attendees and designers put their own unique twist to this year’s theme, and some even incorporated sustainability through their work, such as Billie Eilish, wearing an all repurposed Gucci look. Lizzo came draped in a beautiful embroidered Thom Browne gown that took 22,000 hours to make (yes, that is correct!)… Last but not least, we got to see Hollywood’s most iconic duo, Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds, gracing the carpet in an Atelier Versace gown and a dapper Ralph Lauren velvet suit.

The Show Stoppers
Unfortunately we can’t talk about every single look that graced the red carpet steps… but we have to highlight some of the most iconic moments… So here they are. To no one’s surprise, we’re starting off with arguably the most anticipated look this year, which was Kim Kardashian wearing the vintage Jean Louis “Happy Birthday, Mr. President” dress worn by Marilyn Monroe in 1962. Not only is this historical piece of art worth 4.8 million dollars, but it had not been worn since 1962, when Marilyn debuted it. Oh yes, and she also walked the Met carpet for the first time with her new boyfriend Pete Davidson… and we’re living for it.
See Gigi Hadid in an insane red Versace piece, that everyone is talking about, Nicola Coughlan in a stunning, Bridgerton-esque ball gown by Richard Quinn, and several other incredible moments that we think deserve another look.
