Spooky season is finally here! During the Fall months, LA has so much to offer from delicious pumpkin-spiced lattes to thrilling haunted houses, no matter what your vibe is you’ll definitely find it amongst the activities! Because Fall happens to be one of our favorite times of the year, we curated the ultimate guide of things to do this October, so you can start planning out your Fall festivities.
1. Halloween Horror Nights
Dates: Available until October 31st
By far, one of the most popular events in October is Universal Studios Halloween Horror Nights (Have you been already?!). Be prepared for a thrill at one of the most entertaining theme parks in the world, a place that doesn’t mess around when it comes to Halloween time. Whether you crave spooky attractions or cool photo ops, this event will fulfill your whole crew’s needs with its crazy mazes, terror tram, scare zones, live shows, food, and so much more! Be prepared to get spooked and get your Fall fun on.

2. 626 Night Market
Dates: October 8th & 9th, 1 PM – 10 PM PST
If you’re a foodie, look no further! Coming to Santa Monica for a limited time only, 626 Night Market is ready to help you feast out this holiday season. This flavor-filled market features tons of food options that can satisfy any and all taste buds. They offer trendy food, unique merchandise, and craft vendors that will create the perfect casual outing to explore and eat with friends or even by yourself. We bet they even offer some fall-flavored goodies, too!
3. Dia De Los Muertos Hollywood Forever
Dates: October 29th, 9 AM -3 PM PST
In honor of a traditional (& beautiful) Mexican holiday, Dia De Los Muertos, Hollywood Forever invites the LA community out to celebrate at their cemetery. This colorful event highlights the beauty of this holiday through its Aztec ritual dancers, altars, musical performances by Grammy Award-winning recording artists, art exhibitions, plus delicious food vendors.
Fun Fact: Many guests dress up and at the end of the day judges choose the best dress Calaca (Skeleton) and memorable altars.
4. Rose Bowl Flea Market
Dates: October 9th, 9 AM – 4 PM PST
For unique finds and vibes, visit the Rose Bowl Flea Market for a fabulous outing. This market is offered every 2nd Sunday of each month and happens to fall on the 9th of October this month. Categorized as the most “unusual” flea, you will find all sorts of unique things from clothing, food, vintage antiques, and more! For the perfect Sunday with family or friends, check out the flea and head to an enchanting view after (because let’s face it, LA is home to so many!).
5. Melrose Trading Post
Dates: Every Sunday, 9 AM – 5 PM PST
The perfect vibe awaits you at the Melrose Trading Post. Live music to dance to, dozens of amazing vendors offering food, unique clothing and art, and shall we mention more? This event has everything you can imagine for an entertaining and busy day out in Los Angeles. Afterward, head to the infamous Melrose Street shopping strip and visit local thrift stores and eateries to truly set into the LA vibe. Enjoy and get your shopping on!
6. Westfield Century City Live Music
Dates: Weekends, 3 PM – 5 PM PST
Calling all of our music lovers! If you love music as much as we do, you’ll love the live music series happening at Westfield Century City. They have live music lined up for every single weekend throughout the month of October. Sets usually are played between 3 PM – 5 PM PST, which gives you the perfect time to grab a tasty dinner afterward. This fabulous location has tons of space for you and a friend to set out a blanket on the grass and enjoy some lovely tunes. For a casual outing and unique shopping experience, visit Westfield Century City.
7. Knott’s Scary Farm
Dates: Available Until October 31st
Get in the spooky spirit by visiting Knott’s Scary Farm, a classic, yet another all-time favorite! Overnight, this theme park transforms into one of the largest and scariest Halloween events in Southern California (emphasis on scary!). With many rides and different attractions, this theme park is bound to surprise you with all that it offers during October. Be aware of the many goons and goblins that they have ready to terrorize you during your walk around the park. Good luck!
8. The Beverly Hills Art Show
Dates: October 15th & 16th, 10 AM – 5 PM PST
Have brunch with the girls, then head to the Beverly Hills Art Show for stunning pieces from artists around the nation. This show showcases multiple different types of art including photography, mixed media, ceramics and more! Whether this is your first show or you’re an art lover, you’re sure to find something that captivates you throughout this experience. This is a free event that will have a wine and beer garden, live music to jam out to, children’s activities, gourmet food options, and community exhibits. Enjoy the beautiful ambiance of art while enjoying Beverly Hills.
9. Enchanted Garden at LA Arboretum
Dates: October 16th, 5 PM – 8:30 PM PST
For an adult Halloween activity, visit the Enchanted Garden hosted by the LA Arboretum. If you love all things nature, this one is for you! With an outdoorsy approach to Halloween, this event will set the vibe right with spooky cocktails, magic tricks, music, tarot card readings, and a look into creepy crawlers (literally). Guests will have the chance to scope out real-life snakes, insect carcasses, pumpkin guts, and more. Step outside your comfort zone with a creepy-crawling and enchanted-ish Halloween experience.
10. Los Angeles Hayride
Dates: Available Until October 31st
To top off your complete Halloween Festivities List, the Los Angeles Hayride is a must! With tons of attractions and plenty of screams, this hayride will leave you shivering, yet wanting more. Send this in the group chat and rally the group for a night of horror.
11. Mr. Bones Pumpkin Patch
Dates: Open until October 30th
Looking for a pumpkin patch in LA? Mr. Bones Pumpkin Patch has been an LA Girl favorite for years! There’s lots of family fun to be had at Mr. Bones Pumpkin Patch. Go through the straw maze, make friends with the animals at the petting zoo, listen to live music, and enjoy delicious treats from the food trucks!
12. Haunt O’ Ween
Dates: Open until October 31st
If Halloween is your favorite holiday Haunt O’ Ween is your playground waiting for you to come to discover. This is the largest Halloween experience with over 200,000 sq ft to discover. There’s so much to experience here including trick-or-treating, dance-offs, potion-making, bounce houses, rides, performances, and more!
13. House of Spirits
Dates: Open until October 31st
Experience Halloween in a haunted mansion at the House of Spirits! This is an immersive and theatrical cocktail soiree. Enjoy craft cocktails, magic, tarot readings, secret games, and much more at this 21+ event in Casa Vertigo, LA!
14. Hallowstream at the El Capitan Theater
Disney Plus presents The Nightmare Before Christmas in 4D at the El Capitan Theater in Hollywood. If you love The Nightmare Before Christmas you do not want to miss this 4D experience. Snow, flashing lights, and smoke bring the movie to life and make it so much more magical! The theater has the props they used for the movie on display, so if you’re a fan, you don’t want to miss out on this experience.

15. The Escape Game LA at Westfield Century City
If you’re looking for an escape room in LA you have to check this place out! The LA Girl was invited to experience The Escape Game and we had a blast! We had 60 minutes to solve the clues and break out of prison. The design of the escape room was so detailed, which made it an experience where we got to escape the reality of everyday life and exercise our team skills to escape. The Escape Game is located at Westfield Century City mall so be sure to get your shopping on afterward!
