5 Water Parks In LA To Beat The Heat

With its beautiful scenery and theme parks, there’s no doubt LA has a ton of outdoor fun. Don’t want to be stuck sweating and overheating? We’ve got you covered. Water parks are perfect for families, friends, and those looking to release their inner child. Here are some of the best water parks in LA to beat the heat and be able to catch a tan while the kids are entertained (why not, right?).

Raging Waters Los Angeles

Open mid May-September

Located in San Dimas, this park is a SoCal favorite. Plus, its known as California’s largest water park. It holds the state’s only Hydromagnetic Water Coaster too. Whether you want to use up some of that summer energy on tube or water slides, chill in some waves (without the sharks, or course), or relax on the lazy river, Raging Waters is a guaranteed good time for you or the kiddos. Buy your tickets or season pass here.

Six Flags Hurricane Harbor

Opens May 20th

This one is for our adventure seekers for sure. Everyone knows Six Flags Magic Mountain carries some serious roller coasters thrills that you want to prepare for, but so does their water park. They have intense water slides, a relaxing lazy river, and of course a fun play area for the littles. If you want some high speed waterslides and are looking for a thrill without hitting the coasters, make some time for a summer day here.

Knott’s Soak City

Open select days May 20th-September 10th

This family favorite is located directly next to Knott’s Berry Farm itself. With 23 slides to choose from and a rafting family ride, this is sure to keep your family active all day. The Beach House holds 200 water guns and sprayers to keep the kids busy. We know it can get tiring so you can always slow down and relax on the Sunset River. Separate admission from the amusement park is required.

Wild Rivers Waterpark

Open Daily May 29th to August 23rd; Open all Weekends in May

Re-opening alert! If you’re down for a little drive, Wild Rivers Waterpark in Irvine is coming back and bigger than before. This park has been redesigned and has new fun that has yet to be explored. The biggest plus to this park in our opinion (and probably yours too) is the way they manage capacity. Who wants to stay sweating waiting in long lines for hours? Wild Rivers allows only a certain amount of people and offers a limited number of season passes so you can get the most out of your day. Buy your tickets and limited season passes here.

Super Silly Fun Land

Open Year-Round

This one is for the kids. While not being a full waterpark, Super Silly Fun Land inside Universal Studios is a park with tons of water features. The kids can stay cool with over 80 water play features in the Wet Zone. This park is based off of the “Despicable Me” movie, with Minion-themed fun throughout. Spend a day at Universal Studios and stop here to kick the heat in the water fun zone. Season Pass holders this one is for you, you’re welcome.
