Unique Date Night Ideas in LA

Brainstorming a fun date night can take way too long, especially after almost 2 years of ordering take-out and re-watching your favorite Netflix shows. So… we found some unique date ideas for you to try,  all around LA!

Silver Lake

Though it may not be the most active neighborhood in LA, Silver Lake is the perfect spot if you are looking for a quiet, peaceful date night.  Silver lake is known for it’s beautiful Echo Park Lake, and what better to do at Echo Park Lake than take a sunset swan paddle boat ride!  With views of Downtown LA, and surrounded by nature, this is also a beautiful spot for a picnic. BTW, Hickory Farms has some great date night gift baskets. But if you’re feeling a restaurant vibe after visiting Echo Park Lake, check out Sage, a delicious plant based bistro, walking distance from Bar Flores to round off the night!

West Hollywood

If you’re at all familiar with LA, you know that West Hollywood is one of the top places for restaurants, shopping… and pretty much anything else you can think of!  One under publicized (but highly populated) corner of Weho is the cross roads between Melrose Ave. & Robertson Blvd. Featuring dinner choices like Gracias Madre (Vegan Mexican,) Olivetta or Craigs (classic fair surrounded by paprazzi vying for a glimpse of its socialite roster) or on the other end: Cecconis & Soulmate, located opposite sides of the corner, it’s the perfect spot for a romantic date night. After dinner, check out 647 San Vicente: City West Hollywood Park to pet some puppies or stroll to walkable dessert stops like Gelato Festival on Melrose ave. (vegan gelato) or Salt & Straw on Santa Monica blvd. (hand crafted ice cream.) Feeling even more adventurous? Extend the nigh  to Hollywood Blvd’s Montalbán Rooftop Theater.  This month features a Valentines collection with some of your favorite romantic classics!

Santa Monica

Santa Monica is always a fun choice, because it lets you get out of the city, and there’s no shortage of things to do!  Next time you’re planning a date night in Santa Monica, head straight to the pier to watch the sunset, ride the ferris wheel, and explore all that the pier has to offer!  After the sun sets, walk down the street to 3rd street promenade, featuring an assortment of stores and restaurants or head to The Bungalow for a classy, beach vibe.  The perfect spot to end the night with dinner and drinks.  Oh! and for dessert… a few blocks down the street you’ll find Somi Somi with the best ice cream!

Downtown LA

Downtown has some incredible hidden gems, so it was hard to pick a few favorites!  Every street you cross, you’ll stumble upon timeless bars and restaurants with the best vibes.  Next time you want to spend a night in the city, head to the new modern Italian restaurant, V, then go straight upstairs to the vintage hidden bar, Seven Grand to have a custom made cocktail and listen to some throwback classics!  Or… if you want the best view in town, walk to the InterContinental Hotel and ride up 73 floors to Spire 73, LA’s tallest open air restaurant and bar, for an unparalleled experience.

Culver City

If you’re feeling adventurous, Culver City has a fun activity for you to try… Disc Golf! Kenneth Hahn Disc Golf Course lets you step outside for a few hours and enjoy some friendly competition. On the way to the course, stop off at the original Sees Candy of La Cienega for a treat- this location also offers pick up service.  After you show off your sporty side to your date, head up the road to Pasta Sisters for dinner. Pasta Sisters hand makes their own pasta daily, and is the perfect casual dinner spot, with incredible food. Stop by See’s Candy in the neighborhood after dinner and call it a night!
