LA’s Top Homeopathic Remedies to Relax & Recover

Here at the LA Girl, we love to explore the many options for self-care and wellness in every form, whether it’s a walk on the beach or digital detoxing with a phone-free day. Lucky for us, there are so many alternative & homeopathic treatments available in Los Angeles that can help you relax, recover, soothe the soul, get in touch with your more spiritual side, and support a more health-conscious lifestyle. Consider this list of healing modalities as a compliment to your health routine, but also a way to support your mood, give you more energy, and put you in that flow state to be your best self. Here are LA’s Top Homeopathic remedies to relax & recover. FYI: the modalities featured typically have little to no side effects, but it’s also important to remember to check with your health care professional and to discuss with the provider to make sure that the treatment is right for you.

Best Acupuncture

If you’ve never tried it, we’ve got a place for you. We love heading over to Encino for a visit at  Shakthi Vaidya, an acupuncture clinic that specializes in Traditional Chinese Medicine modalities such as Acupuncture, Fire Cupping, Gua Sha, and Herbal Formulas, personalized to each person. In case you need a refresher, Acupuncture is a form of traditional Asian medicine in which needles are inserted into various points throughout the body and it’s been practiced for over 3,000 years in regions of Asia. Just so ya know, there is a wide variety of styles of Acupuncture. Everyone has their way of inserting needles into the body to stimulate the central nervous system and  activate the body’s natural healing abilities. Acupuncture is great for people that have pain, emotional imbalances, menstruation irregularities, and so much more.

Where To Find Salt Therapy

Salt. It’s not just what goes on your fries, it’s actually a healing modality. We found two places that offer this unique treatment:  Westlake Village’s Halo Salt Spa and the Valley Salt Cave in Woodland Hills. So what’s its deal? Salt therapy, which is also referred to as halotherapy, is a great way to detox, promote a sense of calmness, and help with respiratory issues. At a salt spa, or salt cave, you’ll either sit in a room filled with salt particles (some are ull of Himalayan Pink Salt) or lay in a crystallized salt bed to reap all the salty benefits.

Coolest Infrared Saunas

When it doubt, sweat it out! It’s not something we heard our grandmother say, but it sounds like it should be. Two places we love to get that sweat going are Burbank Infrared Sauna and Sweatheory in Hollywood. They are a total upgrade to a traditional steam session with infrared lighting. Infrared Therapy is said to help heal, stimulate, and detox the body. That combination, on top of  elevating the body’s temperature, helps enhance the body’s functioning on many levels. At these saunas, take advantage of using all the Red light therapy you can. It helps reduce signs of aging and make the skin even more smooth and supple.

Best Reiki Session

We love paying a visit to Vie Healing on Melrose in West Hollywood for a Reiki session. Reiki is a beautiful alternative therapy that originated in Japan and uses the energy of a practitioner’s hands to channel energy and promote healing. In a Reiki session, the practitioner places their hands near the body, and directs this “chi” or life energy towards the recipient. Reiki can also be done over the phone or online if you’re looking for some remote options. Reiki is a great tool for wellness and can help get your chakras aligned. But here’s a tip….make sure you spend time finding a practitioner and place that feels like a match for your energy.

Cupping For First Timers

When we’re feeling like our cup needs some filling, we head over to the tranquil Golden Fork Wellness in Highland Park. At this point, I think we’ve all seen Gwyneth Paltrow’s big cup circles on her back, and it’s made us a little more curious about this homeopathic treatment.  So what exactly is cupping? This old practice can be traced back to ancient cultures and involves placing cups on the skin. Once the cups are placed on the skin, a suction effect creates results that are said to help move stagnant energy, help flush out toxins, and increase circulation. If you’re a first timer, this is the place to visit. They’ll take care of you and educate you about the treatment. Just be sure you don’t have an event the next day (unless you want that Paltrow freshly cupped look), as this treatment can leave bruises and marks for several days after.
