3 Things to Do for Labor Day Weekend!

What to Do in LA

Angelenos, it’s going to be 80 degrees and sunny this Labor Day weekend. Though we’ve witnessed “back to school” feels already, Labor Day marks the last official weekend of summer (and some other rule about wearing white pants!)

Hotel Day Pass Options

How do you book a pool-front spot at some of LA’s most happening hotels this weekend? Use Resort Pass! Gone are the days of full stay-cations and over-nighters in your neighborhood. Now, weekenders are choosing to spend a day at the pool  instead. Skip the baggage, bring your suit, a friend and have a good time! We found a site wiht a full list called Resort Pass, boasting passes to The Hollywood Roosevelt, Kimpton Everly Hotel, The Grafton on Sunset, Andaz West Hollywood, W Hollywood, Sunset Tower, The Grafton & more! Happy sun-ing.

Picnic Options

Option 1: Get a picnic box! Restaurants like Lanea in Santa Monica are whipping up ready-to-pick up taco & hard beverage boxes for the beach, the park or even a patio celebration. If you’re in West Hollywood or Studio City and looking for a go-to for picnic essentials, Joans on Third will give you all the “gram” vibes and has tons of options to piece together for your outing.

Option 2: Hire a Picnic company. Though this can get a bit pricey, it will take every ounce of work, out. Chicnic or The Picnic Collective are great LA-based picks.

Option 3: Go buy your a’ la cart items yourself: Trader Joes baguette, cheeses, meats and dips will keep the price down & the holiday vibes high. Don’t forget: A bar of dark chocolate to break into pieces at the end and a knife

Take us to Italy

Not everyone loves playing “sunscreen catch-up” out in the sun for holidays. Some of us would like a sweat-free, easy outing that involves wine. Here are some places to bring Tuscany to La LA Land this Labor Day.

Want to try: Della Terra West Hollywood. Reliably Delicious: Cafe Roma Beverly Hills. No-Brainer: Eataly Century City. (HINT: Make this a complete day-out with a cinema & virtual reality experience both located in the same outdoor mall. I know the VR sounds silly, but I’ve tried it after a walk around Eataly- it’s FUN!.)

At Home: Hosting something at home? Haute Mess Market & Cafe’s catering spreads. Their sandwich, charcuterie and meat platters will help cut prep time in half (oh, and looks like they’re set in the wine department too.)
