The Ultimate Sporty Couple’s Getaway: Indian Wells Golf Resort

Ladies and Gentlemen, pack your clubs and grab your significant other because we’re headed to Indian Wells Golf Resort for the ultimate sporty couple’s getaway. This luxurious golf resort, located just a short two-hour drive from LA, is the perfect escape for couples who love to golf, eat, and need a few days to get away from the hustle and bustle of LA. From round the clock tee times to exceptional award winning cuisine, this golf meets glamour resort caters to anything on your golf getaway. And we rounded up the top 4 things we loved doing at this 36 hole desert gem.

1. Master your Golf Game

Private golf lessons is what sets this resort apart from any other golf resort you’ve been to.  Whether you’re a seasoned pro or a beginner, the resort’s professional instructors will help you take your golf game to the next level. We were lucky enough to get to learn from two of the nicest instructors ever, Jordan and Bobby. And with the beautiful weather and scenery in Indian Wells, you’ll want to be sure your game is up to par (yes, we went there) to be able to spend hours on the course, perfecting your swing and bonding with your spouse, partner, or significant other. But we get it, sometimes a girl’s got to stick to her budget and at Indian Wells they get that too. So if you don’t feel like splurging on private lessons, and still want to I improve your golf game, visit the resort’s Top Tracer Driving Range. The range features a variety of games and challenges that are both entertaining and educational, so you can bond over a game of golf no matter what skill level you’re at.

2. Choose Your Course

Now that you’ve decided on lessons or maybe roaming the greens in a friendly game, let’s talk about the golf courses you can choose from. Indian Wells Golf Resort is home to two championship golf courses, both of which offer a unique and challenging experience. The Celebrity Course is known for its stunning desert landscape and features narrow fairways, deep bunkers, and elevated greens that test even the most skilled golfers. We played this one and can confirm that it was challenging, but honestly absolutely playable (even for us amateurs). Meanwhile, the Players Course provides a more forgiving layout that is ideal for players of all skill levels. With its wide fairways, large greens, and less severe bunkers, the Players Course is the perfect place for a casual round of golf! And, let’s not forget to not mention the golf carts. Oh, they’re more high techthan most phones! With GPS, power outlets, and even a built-in cooler, you’ll be riding to your next shot in style for the entire day.

3. Break for Lunch

By now, you have worked up an appetite by putting and sinking every hole, so let’s take a break and grab some food. Indian Wells Golf Resort’s restaurant “Vue” is where culinary magic happens and delicious cocktails are served. Trust us! You WON’T leave hungry. The menu features a variety of delicious dishes, but here’s what you must try: the Chilean sea bass, coconut shrimp platter, and creamy risotto! We may or may not have ordered more than one. Whiskey lovers also won’t leave disappointed as they boast an impressive selection that will satisfy any connoisseur’s taste. Plus, the beautiful views from the restaurant’s outdoor patio will take your dining experience to the next level.

4. Rest & Relax

Considering that Indian Wells Golf Resort is located within walking distance from 4 luxury hotels in Indian Wells, you have plenty of options to get some much-deserved pampering and R&R. Plus, did someone say Spa? Sore muscles and tight wrists will get their due if you visit one of the multiple top-rated spas in the area. They have everything on the menu:  massages, couples massages, facials, body treatments and more.

Here are our favorites.

  1. Spa at Miramonte Resort & Spa
  2. Agua Serena Spa at Hyatt Regency Indian Wells Resort & Spa
  3. Spa Esmeralda at Renaissance Indian Wells Resort & Spa
  4. Spa Terra at The Vintage Club

Bonus!

You can play games all night at the driving range Shots in The Night Experience (we highly recommend this!). Plus, we hear  “The Nest”, a bar located down the street, is fun for a night out after you play. The breakfast burritos at the food truck in the morning at the resort are amazing. Finally, they offer valet parking and self-parking options. So, what are you waiting for? Grab your boo and head out of town for a fun and spontaneous weekend that will leave you feeling relaxed and reconnected.

Not down to drive too far? That’s OK. Here are some courses right in our LA backyard.
