Guide to LA Lifestyle Travel

The Best Beaches near LA For Memorial Day Weekend 2022

Memorial Day Weekend is almost here and with all of this warm weather, we’re guessing the beaches are going to be the place to be this holiday! Luckily for us Los Angeles locals, there are plenty of beaches nearby for all of us to enjoy. Whether you want to take a little drive outside of LA for the weekend, or just want to head to the closest shore to kick back & cool off, we’ve listed some of our favorite spots for you to hit this Memorial Day Weekend.

South Jetty Beach

Starting off up north a little ways, South Jetty Beach in Ventura, just north of Malibu, is the perfect spot if you’re looking to get out of the city! Ventura has the best small beach town vibe, and South Jetty beach is right next to the Harbor Village, so you can enjoy the beach, explore the harbor, do a little shopping at the village, and stop for a bite (one of our favorites, Brophy Bros. with a view of the harbor, walking distance to the beach, and serving up fresh seafood)!

Where: 1583 Spinnaker Dr, Ventura, CA 93001, United States

Point Dume State Beach

To escape some of the crowds this Memorial Day Weekend, Point Dume is a lovely, more secluded spot on the outskirts of Malibu! Point Dume State Beach is the hidden gem of Malibu, located right next to Point Dume Nature Preserve, where you can walk a beautiful cove trail and see the stunning ocean views from up above, on the coastal cliffs. (This is the perfect time of the year to visit because the spring flowers are in full bloom)!

Where: 29245 Cliffside Drive Malibu, CA 90265

Manhattan Beach

Manhattan beach is a favorite pick of ours, because not only is the beach perfect for the whole family, with beach volleyball courts and surf boards for rent, but the town of Manhattan Beach has so much to offer. Spend the day walking around the town (make sure to stop by Manhattan Beach Creamery for the BEST ice cream!!)… watch the sunset on the beach, and check out the aquarium at the end of the pier!

Where: 2 Manhattan Beach Blvd, Manhattan Beach, CA 90266

Little Corona Del Mar Beach

If we could run away to Newport Beach & live there forever… we would. Newport Beach truly feels like you’re on vacation and has some of the best surfing, shopping, and restaurants to offer.  Little Corona Del Mar Beach is known for its surfing, tide pools, and dolphin sightings! You can bring the whole family to Little Corona Del Mar Beach, including your pups because it is dog friendly!

Where: Ocean Blvd and Poppy Ave Newport Beach, CA 92625

Victoria Beach

Laguna Beach is another top pick! Victoria Beach is nestled on the coast in Laguna Beach and is full of character. The famous Pirate Tower stands on Victoria Beach, a historical statue that will make you feel like you’re visiting another country! Victoria Beach is secluded, if you’re looking for a quieter vibe for the weekend, and is also known for its snorkeling and hidden caves. It’s pup-friendly too!

Where: 2713 Victoria Dr. Laguna Beach, CA 92651
