5 Things to Look Forward to at LA Food and Wine

LA Food and Wine

I’m beyond excited for LA Food and Wine that takes place this week from August 25-28! This epic food festival features an array of tastings, a hefty celebrity chef lineup and even a concert. The events will take place in a variety of venues including Grand Avenue in DTLA, restaurants all over the city and the Barker Hanger in Santa Monica. Here are the 5 things I’m looking forward to the most at this week’s LA Food and Wine!

The Food

This will definitely be a week of indulgence for me! With over 15 tasting events to choose from, it will be difficult to decide which event to attend. Some go with their favorite chef or if they’ve been dying to try a restaurant, that could be the deciding factor. The events can be a little pricey with tickets ranging from $115-$250, so I would choose the ones you really want to go to!

The Wine

Each tasting event features several different wine pairings. If you’re looking to maximize and try as many as you can out, I suggest attending the Lexus Grand Tastings that happen on Saturday and Sunday from 12-3pm.

The Ladies Lunch

I’m so excited to attend the Dine with the Ladies event featuring Lexus Culinary Master Stephanie Izard and Chef Antonia Lofaso. This will take place on Friday, August 26 from 12-3pm at Scopa Italian Roots.

The Night Market

I’m looking forward to attending the Night Market presented by Eater featuring Jet Tila and Brian Malarkey. According to the website, it will “feature an abundance of unique tastings using seasonally inspired ingredients from some of the nation’s most influential chefs. The event will be a multi-sensory street food experience that brings the flavors of night markets from Taipei to Kuala Lumpur to Grand Avenue! Serving up traditional as well as interpretive street grub from both established restaurants and mom-and-pop joints, the Night Market recreates the celebratory chaos and delicious energy of the quintessential Night Market experience with a distinct West Coast flavor. Along with tastings of street food from over 30 participating restaurants and eateries, admission includes custom cocktails, sake, beer and free-flowing wine.”

The Concert

If you’re looking to stroll down Grand Avenue in Downtown Los Angeles while listening to the beats of De La Soul, make sure you attend the Live on Grand event hosted by Tyler Florence. You’ll be able to taste food from 30 chefs and 50 wineries while experiencing the music under the stars!

To attend any of the tastings and events, go to LA Food and Wine to purchase tickets and enjoy this amazing experience that only happens once a year!
