Happy National Margarita Day! Seriously is there anything better than tasty tequila, lime juice, triple sec,and hints of salt (or Tajin) on the rim? Fun fact, this cocktail was created in 1938 in Mexico and is a go-to for any amount of fun that will or is abut to happen. We love a good margarita (on the rocks or blended) and there are only a select few places that make them elevated and extraordinary. Having a Night In?

Ok as much as we love going out to have a drink with the girls, making margs at home are juts as fun. Our local fave cocktail guru –  Paul Zahn –  has put together these epic recipes that are easy to make and easy to drink too!

1. Codigo 1530 Rosa Skinny Margarita

2 parts  Código 1530 Rosa Tequila

1 part lime Juice

1 part monk fruit syrup

Pour salt onto a small plate. Use the wedge of lime to wet the rim of a margarita glass. Dip the rim into the salt and fill the glass with ice.

Fill a cocktail shaker with ice & ingredients.

Shake & pour into prepared glass.

2. A Cristalino Clear Margarita

1 ½ oz. Avión Reserva Cristalino

1 oz. Filtered Lime Juice

1 oz. Simple Syrup

Add one and a half ounces of Avión Reserva Cristalino, filtered lime juice and simple syrup to a shaker. Stir gently until thoroughly mixed and strain carefully through a fine mesh strainer. Strain over coupette glass. Garnish with a lime twist.

3. Codigo 1530 Reposado Cadillac Margarita:

2oz Codigo 1530 Reposado

1.5oz Italic-us

1.5oz Fresh Lime Juice

.5oz Agave Nectar

Shaken & served over large rock or over ice

4. Frozen Watermelon Margarita (yum!)

1 ½ ounces Altos Anejo tequila

1 ½ ounces triple sec

¼ medium watermelon (diced and frozen)

1 medium lime

Kosher salt for the rim & mint

Cut watermelon into large cubes and freeze 6 hours or overnight Combine watermelon cubes, tequila, Triple Sec and lime juice in a high-speed blender Blend until thick and smooth Serve into a Margarita glass and enjoy! Cheers! Also, don’t forget the tacos!
