5 Reasons To Go to the SoSpa at Sofitel Beverly Hills

I’ve been so busy lately with multiple projects at my day job, attending events and writing for The LA Girl, and planning my wedding and honeymoon. I just needed some “me” time. So when Sofitel reached out to me to see if I would like to get some spa treatments at the SoSpa at Sofitel Beverly Hills, how could I say no?

I had been to the hotel before for events but I had never stayed there or eaten at the restaurant, Esterel. So my fiance and I chose a weekend and we stayed there for two nights with our dog, Pucci. They scored major points for being a dog-friendly hotel and everyone was so nice and accommodating!

We checked in on a Friday night and had breakfast the next morning at Esterel. I had the lobster benedict and it was delicious! The fresh watermelon juice was amazing too.

I had two appointments planned at the spa, one for an aroma body wrap followed by a renewal massage. I was assigned to Michael, their lead therapist and he did an amazing job.

He started out with a back ritual, which was a massage, then a scrub. After the scrub, he used Oshiboris (a hot/dry towel) to wipe the scrub off then used a white clay. He then wrapped me up to encourage sweating so that my pores can open up and absorb the product.

After that, I went into their amazing steam shower to rinse off. I spent a while in there because the steam was just so relaxing. Their shower was incredible, with all these jets overhead and to the side.

After I rinsed off, Michael continued with a massage using a nourishing milk.

It was a truly amazing experience and it made me realize how good it is to set up time for you to relax. Everyone in LA is so busy and always on the go, that we never have time for ourselves. So on that note, here are 5 reasons why every LA girl should go to the SoSpa at the Sofitel Beverly Hills:

1. You need a break.

If you’re a workaholic like me, you often don’t have a lot of time to relax. So here’s your chance to schedule some time for yourself and take your mind away from all the things you think about constantly.

2. You want to get away, but can’t really.

It’s great to have time for a weekend getaway but if you can’t, there’s plenty of staycation options in LA. Sometimes a change of environment is good for you.

3. You need to unplug.

We are often glued to our phone so this gives you a chance to fully unplug for a few hours and not be checking it every minute. I suggest leaving your phone in the locker room so you don’t take any calls or check your texts.

4. You need to pamper yourself.

When you’re so busy, you sometimes forget to take care of you! I always recommend people getting massages because it’s something you can treat yourself to and with someone else doing the work, you can just relax!

5. You deserve it.

After working so hard every week, you deserve to take some time for you and enjoy a few hours to yourself where you don’t have to do anything. I think doing this regularly prevents burnout and makes you even more productive when you go back to work.
