LA’s Best Rooftop Restaurants With Amazing Views

Weather is usually very predictable here in LA, which is why our eclectic and beautiful city has so many options to dine out al fresco. But the best dinners are usually the ones that have incredible views of the city skyline. Rooftop restaurants in LA are staples for visitors and locals. Your dining experience will level up beyond your wildest LA dreams. Check out one of the yummiest and chicest lists we’ve ever put together, here are the 5 Best Rooftop Restaurants in LA.

1. MELROSEPLACE

Address: 8472 Melrose Pl. Los Angeles, CA 90069

Sitting on one of the most iconic streets in LA, MELROSEPLACE has become one of our faves. The stylish open-air vibe will make you feel cool girl chic in one second, so you better reserve now.  A summer night is the perfect time to visit because the panoramic views of the city’s iconic skyline day or night are incredible. Our Editor-in-Chief, Erika De La Cruz, had the chance to stop by and savor the decadent scene and indulge in their menu which is a mix of both luxe and fresh.

The vibrant culinary offerings include spicy tuna, salmon, and yellowtail on rainbow crispy rice, an udon cacio e pepespicy pasta alla vodka, and a bountiful beet salad.  To wash it all down, the bar crafts the most refreshing seasonal handcrafted cocktails and mocktails, and carry aged wines plus craft brews made with locally sourced ingredients. MELROSEPLACE LA doesn’t just offer a meal, it offers an experience that you’ll want to revisit later.

2. E.P. & L.P. Rooftop

Address: 603 N. La Cienega Blvd, West Hollywood

Just above the vibrant scene of LA, you’ll find E.P. & L.P. Rooftop, an absolute gem among the city’s rooftop dining experiences. This place is a one-stop shop for a great night of dinner and drinks. Open 7 days a week and until 2 am nightly, enjoy your evening overlooking the views of the Hollywood Hills and Sunset Strip. Diners will include deliciously captivating dishes such as their salt and pepper calamari or asada tacos. But, what’s dinner without a drink? Enjoy one of their incredible cocktails, wines, beers, or ciders (our favorite drinks were the Blinding Lights and Paradise City). Monday through Friday from 4 pm-6 pm is a routine happy hour that you won’t want to miss. The rooftop is first come first serve but is also accepting online reservations.

3. The Rooftop by JG

Sitting atop the Waldorf Astoria in Beverly Hills is the Rooftop by JG.  It’s a hidden modern oasis decked out in lush green chairs and barstools and has an insane focal point of the LA skyline. But that’s not all. The unique and delectable menu combines a variety of flavors from Latin America and Southeast Asia with a New York and California flair. We recommend ordering shared plates to sit back and enjoy the cool ambiance. There are dietary options for everyone, plus you can easily make a reservation on OpenTable.

4. Lemon Grove

Address: 1717 Vine St Floor 6, Los Angeles, CA 90028

Lemon Grove is a brand new rooftop restaurant in Los Angeles, on top of a members club and hotel called the Aster, with full 360 degree views, and it has total Top Chef status (yes, please!). Chef Marcel Vigneron, who was the 2nd season’s Top Chef runner-up, has created a menu that mixes old Hollywood with new Hollywood cuisine. Sitting out on the rooftop, you’ll see famous buildings like the Capital Records building, plus multi-million dollar mansions beyond that. The outside decor vibes are a blend of desert chic meets California glam. Yup, your LA dining bucket list needs this place at the very top. They are open to the public Wednesday through Sunday for dinner, but make sure to make a reservation on Resy, because their waitlist could be long.

5. Grandmaster Recorders

Address: 1518 N Cahuenga Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90028

Grandmaster Recorders restaurant and rooftop will give you  rock and roll history vibes. It was once a recording studio where the world’s most celebrated legends like Davie Bowie, Neil Young, and Stevie Wonder came to drop a beat. Now it’s been turned into a hip dining spot with handcrafted Australian-Italian dishes. Both the food and drinks are unmatchable, but the real jewel of this place is the outdoor rooftop where string lights set the tone for the Hollywood skyline. Grandmaster Recorders has a charm, unlike any other restaurant, almost like a special album that we hold close to our hearts. You can book a table at Resy and find more information on their website

6. The Highlight Room

Address: 6417 Selma Ave, Hollywood, CA 90028

The Highlight Room is located at the top of Dream Hollywood, which literally makes you feel like you’re in a dream. High above Hollywood, enjoy a 360-degree panorama of Los Angeles while dining on fresh Californian cuisine. On a super clear night, you’ll also catch views of the Hollywood sign. This rooftop restaurant sits 16 floors up above the Pershing Square Building and offers exquisite French cuisine and crafted cocktails. It’s perfect for date night or girls night. We love the “All the Way Up” drink, it’s the perfect name for being all the way up! And this is a bonus. Perch has live music every night of the week and brings in DJs to spin on the weekends.
